A scintillating first half from the young hurlers of An Dún quickly put paid to any hopes CLG Dhún na nGall had of advancing to the next stage of u20 B Championship in Ballycran last night. The lack of preparation time for the young Donegal players showed in the early stages as they struggled with the pace of the game and the match had moved well beyond their reach by half-time.
A different Donegal emerged after the break. They hurled bravely and skilfully throughout the second half and outscored the home side until the last puck of the game. Down now progress to play Sligo in the quarterfinals in Páirc Esler.
