Donegal have two titles in the bag for 2019 and the quest for a third, Sam himself, begins in MacCumhaill Park on the weekend of July 13/14 with the first of the three Super 8 games. Talk radio comes to the home of the Ulster Club Champions, CLG Gaoth Dobhair, the week before in the form of the SuperValu Off The Ball roadshow on Wednesday July 10th. SuperValu, Ireland’s largest grocery retailer, are teaming up with Off The Ball, to bring their award-winning show on the road this summer to celebrate SuperValu’s 10th year as sponsor of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship. Special guests will include SuperValu GAA ambassador Oisin Kiernan and local GAA stars Eamon McGee, Kevin Cassidy and Brendan Devenney. They will provide in-depth analysis of the 2019 GAA Football Championship, chat about their own personal GAA stories and reveal their predictions on who will lift the coveted Sam Maguire Trophy this year.
Speaking ahead of the Donegal leg of the SuperValu Off The Ball roadshow, Ray Kelly, SuperValu Marketing Director, said:
“Our GAA partnership has allowed us to support the development of the game – from where it all begins at grassroots level, to players who represent their parish and county, at senior level. As we all know, GAA fans are some of the best in the world, so this roadshow is all about giving back to the fans and adding to the excitement of Championship season.”
Also speaking ahead of the Donegal roadshow event, Ger Gilroy from Off The Ball, said:
“The best part of what we do is getting the opportunity to hit the road and broadcast live, in front of people of all ages. … The Championship never stops entertaining and surprising fans. 2019 has already produced some very interesting developments, so we will have plenty to analyse and discuss, on our tour.”
In addition to the Off The Ball roadshow, SuperValu is working with its GAA ambassadors and the GAA community, to explore what it is that makes GAA so unique. The importance of ‘Where You’re From’ and the passion it generates through both players and fans, will be explored through SuperValu’s 2019 GAA campaign. The new campaign is sure to turn heads as it takes a look behind the scenes to highlight the real resilience of players, managers and supporters – what really keeps them coming back and on the pitch. SuperValu will demonstrate how our communities and our involvement in GAA, helps to shape the people and players we become – how community is paramount, how community pride never leaves us and how where you’re from is truly engrained in our personal identities. This will be brought to life through a series of videos, which will broadcast on SuperValu’s social media channels over the coming months.
Tickets for the SuperValu Off The Ball roadshow events are available via www.offtheball.com and ticket competitions will be running on SuperValu and Off The Ball social channels, throughout the summer. Doors for the event will open at 6.30pm.
