James Connors will be the man in the middle this Saturday for the Nicky Rackard final in Croke Park between Armagh and Sligo. Throw-in is at 4.00 pm.
James has been refereeing in Donegal since 2009. He joined the Ulster Panel in 2013 and has been a member of the National Referees Hurling panel since 2016. This year to date, James has refereed games in the Lory Meagher, Nicky Rackard and Christy Ring Cups. Saturdays appointment will be James’s second occasion to referee an All Ireland final in Croke Park having previously been the man in the middle for the 2017 Lory Meagher Final between Warwickshire and Leitrim.
James will be assisted on Saturday by his team of umpires Gerry Burke, Don Gallagher, Derek Kelly and Donal Friel. Special mention also to Pat Walsh and Eamonn McAuley who have umpired all year with James but who are unavailable for this Saturday.
