CLG Chill Mhantáin will visit O’Donnell Park for the second time this year when they play CLG Dhún na nGall in the first Round of the Christy Ring Cup on Sunday May 12th in Letterkenny. On their last visit, in the Allianz league, the two teams were neck and neck for much of the game but Wicklow pulled away in the third quarter.
Donegal are in a group of four with fellow Ulster teams Down and Derry making up the quartet, while Kildare, Roscommon, Meath and London make up the other group. Each group will play a round robin series and the two top teams will qualify for the semi-finals – the winners of each group play runners-up from the other groups. The bottom team in each group will enter a play-off with the loser being relegated to the Nicky Rackard Cup. Donegal, of course, are the current Nicky Rackard Cup holders having won it in 2018 and subsequently promoted to the Christy Ring.
Throw-in in Letterkenny is at 1.00 pm so get along and show your support. Tír Conaill abú.
