The Jimmy McGlynn Catering Division 4 All County League got under-way yesterday April 6th. Four games were played with wins for Carndonagh, Moville, Urris and Na Rossa:
Pettigo 1-7 Carndonagh 0-20; Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin 1-6 Moville 2-14; Urris 4-22 Robert Emmets 0-7; and Naomh Padraig, Leifear 0-5 Na Rossa 1-10.
Our featured game in Division 4 this week was in Crampsey Park, Straid.
Urris 4.22 Robert Emmets 0-8

Robert Emmets were visitors to Crampsey Park in the opening game of the Jimmy McGlynn Division 4 league on Saturday night. Played in glorious April sunshine the match turned into a very one-sided affair with the home side run-away winners from an early stage.
The visitors did open the scoring but that was as good as it got for Robert Emmets and it was all Urris for rest of the half. Urris scored the next two points, quickly followed by a Luke Mullins goal and had a further four points on the board before the Castlefinn men got their second point. A brace of Urris points followed leaving the half time score Urris 1-12 Robert Emmets 0-3.
The home side started the second half where they left off in the first, with a Conor Bradley goal followed by a point from the same player. Another couple of scores from Alan Friel followed before Emmets got their first of the second half. It was one-way traffic, however, for the rest of the game. Mark McLaughlin and Ryan Doherty (R) added goals for Urris, and while, to their credit Robert Emmets battled to the end, scoring four more points, the result was clear long before the final whistle.
In the end a very comfortable opening first game for Urris but their management and squad know there will be much tougher games down the road in campaign.
