Comhghairdeas mór le Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn who won the Ulster title in Leiriú on Saturday night. All four of the acts representing Donegal in the Ulster final last night in Galbally did themselves, their clubs and the county proud.
Our solo singer Sinéad Ní Dhomhnaill of Naomh Adhamhnáin, our ballad group from Roibeard Eiméid and our instrumental group from An Clochán Liath all performed to the highest standard. Each gave their best performances to date and were unfortunate not to claim Ulster titles, coming as close as possible and augering well for the future. Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn’s win was their first ever Ulster title in the Léiriú with a piece that was described by the adjudicator afterwards as “a very clever piece with bags of humour and entertainment value”.
Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn will now go on to represent Donegal and Ulster in the All Ireland finals in Castlebar in three weeks time where they will be joined by Gaeil Fhánada in the Tráth na nCeist. We wish both clubs the very best of luck agus go néirigh go geal leo.
