***Seniors/Reserves***
Rinne an dá fhoireann an turas fada go Gleann Cholmcille Dé Domhnaigh seo chaite. Bhí buaidh mhaith ag an fhoireann tacaíochta in éadan Naomh Columba 2-11|0-10. Ach bhí an mí-ádh ar na sinsir arís nuair a chaill said 2-9|2-6.
The seniors and reserves made the journey to Glencolumbkille to face Naomh Columba on Sunday past. Reserves recorded another win with a final score of 2-11|0-10. They were winning by 2 points at half time but two 2nd half goals which were finished by Blaine Mulligan made it difficult for Naomh Columba to come back. Our seniors again suffered a narrow 3 point defeat – final score 2-9|2-6. Despite two quick goals from Naomh Columba in the 1st half, Cloughaneely stayed within reach and were only down by 3 points come half time; HT score 1-4|2-4. Naomh Columba were then reduced to 14 men early in the 2nd half. A Cloughaneely goal made it a 1 point game with 15 mins remaining; Cloughaneely were then reduced to 14 men for the remaining 5 mins as Ciaran Mcgeady was shown the sideline. Naomh Columba produced that extra burst of energy required to get them over the line and secure a win.
***Club Lotto***
Numbers drawn on Wednesday, June 15th, were 2 7 9 13 14 17! We had no match 6 winners so jackpot rises to €2,850! We had 3 match 5 winners (all from quickpick tickets!) who win €35 each- congratulations to Kathleen Doherty, Crolly; Eddie Cannon, Ardsbeg; Dan Curran, Meenacladdy! Next draw takes place, Wednesday, June 22nd at the bingo in Óstan Loch Áltan. Tickets are on sale in various outlets throughout the parish. As per usual they will also be on sale in Óstan Loch Áltan prior to the bingo each Wednesday evening.
***Sympathies***
On behalf of Cloughaneely GAA club we would like to extend our sympathies to the family, extended family and friends of Eileen McGinley. Eileen was a past player of the club and also represented the club at county level. Eileen has made a huge impact throughout the parish through her strength, bravery and courage in recent years; she has become and will continue to be an inspiration for us all. ***Gym Information***
As many of you know Conor McGee will now also be holding classes in the Gym in addition to Declan McGarvey’s classes. Anne-Marie Rodgers will also be running classes shortly in the gym (details to follow in the coming weeks!) Conor’s Class Schedule is as follows: Mon & Fri at 10am and 6pm, Tuesday and Thursday at 6.45am. Small Group training starting soon – Contact Conor on 087 260 1350 for more info on his classes. Reminder: The gym is open for public use once membership has been paid! We are delighted to have Conor and Anne Marie on board alongside Declan- best of luck to all 3 of you!
