Senior Ladies
The Senior Ladies played a friendly against Steelstown on Saturday evening in Foden. On a very wet and windy evening they secured a win beating Steelstown 3-07 to 1-03. Training continues every Wednesday & Friday evening in Foden from 6.45pm – 8.15pm.
Club Membership & Registration
Club membership for 2016 is now due and can be paid to our Club Registrar Lorraine McDaid or any of the main officers.
Easter Camp
The club held a very successful Easter Camp last Wednesday and Thursday. There was a great turnout from our underage players and they had a very enjoyable few days. A big thank you to all the coaches that helped out over the few days to coach our future stars.
Jigs & Reels Fundraiser
The final figure the club raised from their recent Jigs & Reels fundraiser is €22,100 prior to distribution of 20% to our two nominated charities SRU, Carndonagh and Lifeline (Inishowen) who will get €2,210 each. This was a great achievement from all involved and a special word of thanks to the business community who gave us such great support.
Bag-Packing Fundraiser
The club had a very successful day of bag packing at B & M Homestore, Strand Road, Derry on Saturday. A big thanks to our bag packers who put in a great effort throughout the day
Underage Football
Underage training for our Under 8’s, 10’s and 12’s will be back on again on Saturday morning in Foden at 11.00am. Our Fundamentals training for Under 6’s will also be back on again on Saturday morning at 11.15am in Foden. Looking forward to seeing all the boys and girls after their Easter break.
Under 14 Girls
Under 14 Girls will play Red Hughs on Tuesday evening in Foden at 6pm. Training this week will be
Thursday 1.15pm-2.30pm.
Under 12 Boys
Under 12 Boys will start their season on Tuesday 29th in Foden. Their first game is against Doire Colmcille with throw-in at 6:30pm. All children interested in playing should be at pitch for 5:45pm
Under 14 Boys
Hard luck to our Under 14 Boys who lost their game against Urris on Saturday. Their next game will be
away to Burt on the 3rd April.
Under 16 Boys
Congratulations to our Under 16 Boys who secured a win over Urris in their first game of the season with a scoreline of 5.12 to 4.08. Their next game will be at home against Malin on the 29th March.
Minor Hurling
Well done to the Minor Hurlers on a fantastic win against Burt in the Minor County Hurling League with a score of 1-11 to 2-07. There was fight and determination to be seen from every one of the Carndonagh players who were reduced to 14 men for 50 minutes of the game due to an injury to Keenan Callaghan. We wish Keenan a speedy recovery! The team was: Kealan White; Nathan McLarkey, Enda Callaghan, PJ Walker, Donal Doherty, Cathal Doherty, Michael Doherty, Anthony Doherty, Keenan Callaghan, Darragh McCormick, James Monagle, Cormac Monagle, Patrick Callaghan, William Callaghan, Adam McLaughlin. They will now face a tough away trip to Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon on Thursday night.
Underage Hurling & Camogie Equipment
The club are asking anyone with hurling or camogie helmets, hurls or sliotars that they may no longer use to contact us if you would be interested in donating them to the club as we are looking to ensure that there is sufficient equipment for all of our underage players. Underage Hurling
Underage Hurling has taken a break for the Easter Holidays and will recommence on Friday 8th April.
Underage Camogie
Camogie training for our Under 8’s and Under 10’s will start on Thursday the 7th April at 6 pm in Foden.
Under 12 and Under 14 Camogie training will start on Thursday the 31st of March at 5.30pm in Foden. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Old & New Shop
Our annual Old & New Shop will open in the corner unit at Gaelic Park on Monday 4th April at 10am. Please support the club by donating any unwanted items of clothing, books, toys, furniture or bric-a-brac etc. Items can be left at our clubhouse in Foden on Saturday 2nd April between 11am – 12.30pm.
If you wish to arrange collection of larger items like furniture or if you have some free time and wish to assist in the shop, please contact Michael at 087 3174822. All proceeds going towards the development of our underage teams.
Garda Vetting Forms
All coaches must complete a Garda Vetting Form. Forms can be got from Connell McGrenra, Club Child Officer. All forms to be returned by 31st March.
