*Comortas Peile na Gaeltacta*
CLG BnaG 3-12 Termon 1-15 (AET)
Na Galloglaigh advanced to the Semi Finals of the Gaeltacht on Saturday after a hard fought victory over Termon. It needed extra time to divide the teams in what was an end to end battle of a game. The majority of the first half was a tight affair with a lot of tit for tat scoring until with 5 minutes remaining Cathal Mc Gettigan got on the end of a great pass from Pauric Curley to finish beneath the keeper. This left 4 between the sides at the break although Na Galloglaigh also lost Enda McHugh after 20 minutes to a suspected dislocated shoulder, all at the club wish Enda a speedy recovery. In the second half Termon came out all guns blazing to put Na Galloglaigh under severe pressure and wiped out the 4 point lead. Once again the second half proved to be an end to end battle with both sides weathering storms and bouncing back. However in the last 5 minutes of normal time Na Galloglaigh had numerous chances to kill the game off but didn’t take them, and instead the game went to the drama of extra time. Extra time proved to be a game of two halves with Na Galloglaigh well on top in the first and Termon in the second. However two goals from Adam Serrinha and Cathal McGettigan in the space of minute in the first half gave Na Galloglaigh the cushion to defend and they showed great composure to see out the victory in the end. This put the boys through to their first ever Gaeltacht Semi Final in Glenties on the May Bank Holiday weekend where they will take on Ardara.
