Senior Men
The lads have it all to do again after earning a draw in the Junior A final in Mc Cumhaill Park on Sunday. In a game that was slow to start with both teams finding it hard to break through each others defence. The lads gradually took control in the final 10 minutes of the first half to go in at the break 3 points up. The lads dominated the second half and looked to be in cruise control leading by 4 points going into the last 7 minutes. A late rally from Naomh Ultan was to come. A point was followed up with a long high into the Reds Defence wasn’t dealt with and The Naomh Ultan number 11 smashed the ball into the top corner of the net. With their next attack The Dunkineely lads again had goal on their minds only for a terrific block from Stephen Mc Menamin saved a certain goal. They tapped over the resulting 45 to put them a point up going into the final minute. The lads never gave up and battled right until the end and their persistence paid off when Colm Melaugh struck over from 30 yards to earn the Reds a deserved second chance. Final Score Red Hughs 0-10 Naomh Ultan 1-7 They replay is likely to be in two weeks time T.B.C.
