CLUB NOTES FOR WEEK ENDING 2 AUGUST 2015
LADIES
Our minor ladies were away to Glenswilly on Sunday past, the game was played in horrible conditions yet the girls played brilliantly and the game ended with Termon having a very convincing win. Well done girls.
The U16s travelled to Naomh Muire last Tuesday 21st, after some seriously great displays of football the girls left with a very convincing win. Well done girls. They then played Fanad at home on Tuesday the 28th and again it was another excellent display from our girls who again had another great win.
U12 girls we held a very succesful blitz last Saturday morning. Huge thanks to Paddy Gallagher, Harry Mc Glynn and Olive Mc Cafferty for refereeing and to the tea makers and everyone who helped out in any way. The girls played some fantastic football throughout the day and in the end it came down to aggregate score to declare the winners and thanks to the second team’s fantastic defending and the Termon team 1 putting up some great scores Termon lifted the cup. Well done to all the girls. Thanks to Harry Mc Glynn, Emily O’Flynn and Roisin Mc Kelvey for all their help throughout the year.
Massive congratulations to the Donegal senior ladies and especially to our own girls, Geraldine Mc Laughlin, Nicole Mc Laughlin, Therese Mc Cafferty, Roisin Mc Cafferty, Shannon Mc Groddy, Laura Gallagher and Emer Gallagher, on winning the Ulster final. MINOR BOARD NOTES JULY 28TH IN ASSOCIATION WITH KELLY’S CENTRA MOUNTAIN TOP LETTERKENNY
It has been a busy few days at minor Board level. On Monday night our U16 boys made the long journey to Malin to take on the hosts in their opening Northern Board Div 2 Championship game. Early in the second half it looked like the journey would be a fruitless one as the home team tagged on 5 unanswerd point to take a three point lead. But the Termon boys dug deep in what was a great final 20 minutes and eventually bagged a 3 point win. A great start to the Championship for these boys. Well done lads. Next up its Urris with a day and time to be confirmed. Training continues on Friday evening at the Burn Road
Several of the boys who played in Malin on Monday then togged out for our U14 boys on Tuesday evening against Urris in their Northern Board Div 1 Championship game. Once again in difficult conditions it was a strong second half performance that ensured a home victory. This sets up a fascinating game this Friday in Mac Cumhaill Park with the winners qualifying for the Semi Finals, and the losers’ season coming to an end. No doubt there will be little between the teams so your support would be appreciated. Throw in 6.30 in Ballybofey.
On Sunday many of these boys will represent us in the Og Sport group stages. We will be in Letterkenny Gaels with the hosts, Gaoth Dobhair and Cloughaneely providing the opposition. Throw in is set for 11.30.
Ou U8s are guests of Mac Cumhaills on Wednesday eve 6.30pm throw in. With over 30 boys and girls signed up to attend it promises to be an exciting evening for all these players. Coaching will continue on Saturday morning for U6 and U8s from 10.30-11.30 and for U10s from 10.30-11.45.
With the countdown on to Buncrana Cup and Mc Guigan Cup underway we are delighted to have representatives and involvement in both teams. At U16 Buncrana Cup level Shane Doherty will be pushing hard for a starting place and Paul Doherty one of our hardest working Coaches will be part of the management team. At U17 level James Mc Sharry and Lee Doherty are both hoping to play a part in what is a strong Donegal team. For both teams August 15th is the day that all these lads are looking forward to.
Congratulations to our minor footballers Conor O’Grady and Stephen Doherty who are dual stars, having won the All Ireland Under 21 C Hurling Championship on Sunday last with the Donegal team.
