Glenswilly GAA notes for June 16th
Glenswilly 5k
The annual 5k takes place next Tuesday, June 23rd, starting at 7.30pm. A large crowd is expected at the event which has been a great success since it started in 2012. Those entering the run and walk will all be chipped and people can pre-register on Monday night next between 6-7pm or on the night of the race from 6pm. The cost is €8 for adults, €2 for U18s and €20 per family. Full details are available on the club’s Facebook page.
Help for the 5K
Plans are well underway for the club’s 5k but help is needed on the night. Anyone who can stewart at the event should contact Brendan Walsh. Also anyone who can provide refreshments including baked goods or sandwiches is asked to drop them down on the evening of the race from 6pm onwards.
Bingo
Bingo continues in the hall every Wednesday night with more than €2,000 in prize money up for grabs. The bingo starts at 9pm.
Congrats to U14 girls
Warmest congratulations to the U14 girls team who beat St.Columba’s of Glencolmcille to book their place in the championship semi-final. The girls will face Downings in their quest to book their place in the final. Well done girls.
U10 training
There will be no U10 training next Tuesday evening because of the staging of the 5k. Training will resume again the following week at 6.15pm.
Tickets for Donegal game
Anyone looking for tickets for the Ulster semi-final between Donegal and Derry at Clones on Saturday week is asked to email their requests to club secretary Aisling McDaid at aislingmcdaid@hotmail.com before Thursday, Jun 18th at 10pm. Anyone who books a ticket is responsible for that ticket.
Congrats to the Glenswilly foursome!
A major congratulations to Gary McFadden, Michael Murphy, Neil Gallagher (and mentor Gary McDaid!) after last Sunday’s terrific performance against Armagh. Well done to the four lads for representing their county and club with such honour.
