Congratulations to our U16 boys on winning the division 1 league final vs Naomh Padraig Muff on Friday last in O’Donnell Park Letterkenny with a score line of Naomh Conaill (1-16) Naomh Padraig (0-9). Well done to all the team and management involved.
Naomh Conaill senior men had a fantastic weekend in the Comortas Peile Na Gaeltacht in Ardara which saw them start of on Saturday morning with a victory over An Gaeltacht (Kerry) and Saturday evening T. Mhic Eadaigh (Mayo). On Sunday evening in the semi-final they met in a mouth-watering local derby with hosts Ardara with Naomh Conaill winning by a single point at the end. Monday was set for the final against Kilcar but due to bad weather the pitch was unplayable so the final will have to be played at a later date.
Naomh Conaill Ladies had a fantastic journey in the Comortas Peile Na Gaeltacht over the weekend but unfortunately fell short in the terrible weather in the final on Monday morning against Moycullen (Galway).
Our u-12 team produced a marvellous display of football at the annual Newry Mitchels tournament in Newry, Co. Down on Saturday. They recorded impressive victories over Rostrevor (Down) and Clontarf (Dublin) and their finest display was a battling draw with a strong Dunshaughlin (Meath) side. Indeed, Naomh Conaill were the only team to take points off Dunshaughlin who topped the group. Naomh Conaill lost narrowly to the tournament’s eventual winners, Clan Na nGael of Roscommon. Well done to all players on some fantastic performances! The next u-12 game is a home match on Wednesday June 10th.
