Well done to the Donegal Minor team who defeated Armagh in the Ulster Minor Quarter Final on Sunday in the Athletic Grounds by 2-14 to 0-7.
*LGFA Tesco Div 2 Team of the Year*
Well done to Amber Barrett who was selected at corner forward on the Tesco Division 2 Team of the Year on the back of her superb performances in the Donegal Ladies League campaign this year. Amber is joined on the team by fellow Donegal stars Yvonne McMonagle and Emer Gallagher. Well done Amber and ladies.

Red Hughs v CLG BnaG
Killygordon, Saturday @ 6 & 7.30pm
Our Seniors and Reserves got back to winning ways last weekend when they took on Naomh Colmcille away and will hope to continue that when taking on Red Hughs this Saturday. Both sides recorded victories over the Killygordon men earlier in the season and will be hoping to do the double and again this week. Throw in for the Reserves is at 6pm with the Seniors afterwards at 7pm. All support greatly appreciated.

Naomh Colmcille 1-8 CLG BnaG 1-9
Na Galloglaigh got back to winning ways this evening with a Lazarus like comeback in the final ten minutes against Naomh Colmcille. Played in horrendous conditions it took both sides a while to get their footing and it was the Newtown men who got the scoreboard ticking fitst after 10 minutes. Naomh Colmcille seemed to be the quicker of the sides to adapt to the conditions and added 4 more points before getting a goal after 25 minutes in the first half to a solitary point from Na Galloglaigh through Kyle Black to leave the half time score 1-5 to 0-1. Its not been uncommon for the lads to be behind at half time this season but they knew they were going to have to raise their game significantly in the second half given the conditions. They got off to a good start with Jonny Logue scoring a point in the opening minute but this was cancelled out 5 minutes later by a Newtown score. Pauric Curley also got a point for the blues after 38 minutes but again Naomh Colmcille went up and scored again to keep the lad at arms reach. After 40 minutes the score was 1-7 to 0-3 when Tj Evesson had a half decent goal chance from a tight angle but took the sensible option of fisting over the bar instead, surely the first time ‘TJ’ and ‘sensible’ have been used in the same sentence. Na Galloglaigh were struggling to get the breaks in around midfield but two Cathal Mc Gettigan frees narrowed the margin somewhat. After some great work by Curley Dylan Hegarty had a big goal chance that would have put just 2 between the sides but his fisted effort fell into the keepers arms. Cathal scored another free before a big talking point came with 5 minutes left. Darragh Black was found in space and bearing down on goal before his head was nearly taken clean off his shoulders by a high challenge. The players argued that it was inside the box and therefore a penalty but referee Tony Gallagher deemed it was outside and gave a free. Cathal again score this free to leave just 2 between the sides with 3 minutes left. As said earlier, the lads struggled to get their share of the breaks in midfield but on 59 minutes Paddy Peoples won the break and sent a high high ball into the box, where one of the smallest men on the pitch Pauric Curley rose to fist it into the back of the net to put Na Galloglaigh into the lead for the first time in the match. Late into injury time TJ Evesson gave away a foul which presented a scorable, but very difficult, free to Newtown. Newtown needed this free, from just outside the 45 but between the posts, to tie up the game. The newtown freetakers effort had the legs but didn’t have the accuracy and sailed wide. There wasn’t even time for a kickout as the referee blew the whistle before the ball had even hit the ground following 63 minutes of play. It was by no means a vintage performance from the lads today but the conditions certainly didn’t help. One thing that has to be said about this group of players and there ‘never say die’ attitude. They never gave up at any stage today and battled for every ball right to the end, indeed in the recent defeats to Bundoran and Aodh Ruadh as well as the draw against Downings the boys played some of their best football in the final stages, never letting their heads drop until the final whistle. Next up for Na Galloglaigh is an away trip to Red Hughs at 7.30pm on Saturday. *Reserves*
Naomh Colmcille 1-6 CLG BnaG 5-15
After suffering their first defeat of the season last week the Reserves certainly got back to winning ways with a comprehensive win today. They played with a strong breeze in the first half which fortunately seemed to die as the game went on, giving Na Galloglaigh nearly the sole benefit of it all day. Dean Burgess opened the scoring in the first minute with a fine point from play, before Caolan Bolton added to this a few minutes later. Ciaran McHugh had a big goal chance go wide before another point from Burgess and one from Kieran Gorman gave the boys a 1-3 lead before Naomh Colmcille registered their first score. James Whelan got on the scoresheet before Ciaran McHugh got the first goal of the match, punishing a poor kick out by Newtown. 2 minutes later the ball was in the back of the net again as Adam Serrinha fisted home after some unselfish play by McHugh. McHugh added 2 more points before Bolton got himself a goal, his effort from distance catching the keeper out and ending up in the back of the net. Naomh Colmcille got the final score of the half to leave the score at the break 3-7 to 0-2. Na Galloglaigh got off to a perfect start in the second half when a superb team move starting in the full back line worked its way the length of the field and Deano Burgess was on hand to finish for a goal of the season contender. Newtown got two points either side of another big goal chance for the blues but Gormans fisted effort came back off the post when it seemed harder to miss. McHugh got himself another point before Newtown got their goal but this was quickly responded to by two points from Serrinha and one from Paul Fisher. Luke Trearty, Jamie Heena and Gorman added more points before a goal and a point from Serrinha finished scoring with the scoreline 5-15 to 1-6. Nine different scorers is no mean feat and this team,with a bit more training, could really contend for the Reserve league title this year if they really want to, time will tell. Like the Seniors the Reserves are also away to Red Hughs next weekend, throw in is at 6pm. Our U12 A and B teams were home last week against St Eunans and although both teams were narrowly beaten they certainly can be happy with their performances. The B team were leading for most of their game but let in two late goals. Best for Na Galloglaigh were Anthony Curran and Lorcan Sweeney, with Callum Ferguson and Lee Callan improving with every match. The A team also put in a brave display only to be beaten at the end. Darragh McFadden and Rory Pyper were the most impressive for a hard working team.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others resumes training next Monday, 9th March at 8.15pm. Open to all newcomers and past players who are over 18 and not currently playing competitive football. These trainings are fun orientated with the focus on learning the skills of the game and interacting with other women/mothers in the community and providing opportunity to be physically active.
