All proceeds go back to the original boot owners however there will be a fixed price per pair of boots. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
*Seniors*
CLG BnaG 1-8 Cloughaneely 1-14
The Seniors had a preseason friendly against Cloughaneely on Saturday with the Falcarragh men winning 1-14 to 1-8. Windy conditions and rustiness meant it wasn’t overly appealing on either side, with both teams missing a lot of regulars from last season. Nevertheless it was a good run out for Shaun Pauls side who will now take on Termon at home in another challenge match this Saturday before their league opener at home to Urris on March 21st.
*Senior Ladies*
CLG BnaG 1-8 Termon 5-8
Our Senior Ladies put up a good performance against All Ireland Champions Termon on Sunday but ultimately lost by 5-8 to 1-8. Next up for the Senior Ladies is another home game against Glenfin at 11am on Sunday
*Minors*
CLG BnaG 1-4 Gaoth Dobhair 0-5
The Minors had a superb victory over reigning champions Gaoth Dobhair in a tight and enthralling contest in Moyle Park on Sunday evening. Na Galloglaigh got off to a good start with 2 Kane Barrett frees and a goal inside the first 5 minutes to give the lads a good foothold. The defence worked excellently throughout the whole game and were able to keep Gaoth Dobhair at arms length in the first half, forcing them to shoot from distance and passing over and back the pitch. A free from Connor Gormley left the half time score 1-3 to 0-3. Na Galloglaigh were in an excellent position at this stage but knew there was still a lot of work to be done, and the lads didn’t shirk their responsibility. They played the second half much the same as the first, hunting in packs and turning possession over to break in numbers. They put in a huge amount of work in the opening period of the second half and as a consequence attack was not the priority, as shown by the boys going 33 minutes without a score. They eventually did get their score with 10 minutes remaining with a long distance Kane Barrett free to put 3 points between the sides again. Gaoth Dobhair put just 2 points between the sides with 5 minutes remaining and made for a nervy finale. But Na Galloglaigh stood resolute to everything Gaoth Dobhair threw at them to come out with a well deserved victory, just the tonic after last weeks disappointing defeat to St Michaels. Next up for the Minors is an away game to Fanad Gaels next Saturday morning. Team: Gavin McFadden, Patrick Ferry, Kieran Sheridan, Cormac Toland, Ryan Mcmahon, Ronan Docherty, Odhrán Coll, Luke Trearty, Connor Gormley (0-1, 1f), Conor Mc Hugh, Adam Serrinha, Martin Doyle, Gavin Grier, Kane Barrett (1-3, 3f), Shane McNamee. Subs: Andreas Afxentiou for McNamee (40m), Ryan Spike Flood for Doyle (50m), Hayden Curran, Peter Curran, Shane McBride, James McCallum
