Club Notes: 02/03/2015
CLUB LOTTO
The sixth Club Lotto draw of the year took place on Monday the 2nd of March. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 10 and 22. There was no jackpot winner on the night meaning next week’s jackpot increases to €2450. Seven players matched three numbers, with each receiving €15. They were: Robbie Porter (Cavan Hill), Stephanie Rutherford (Porthall), Tracy McNamara, Oran Dooher (Clonleigh Park), Pat Ferry (Curraghalane), Odhran McGettigan (Coolatee) and Joe Carlin (Lifford Co-Op).
THE WEEK AHEAD
U-14 Ladies, U-16 Ladies and Minor Ladies training continues on Monday evenings at the Training Pitch in Rossgier (6PM to 7PM) and Wednesday evenings at the Lifford Community Centre (7PM to 8PM). All players are asked to contribute €2 towards the cost of each training session.
U-16 Boys training continues each Wednesday night at the training pitch in Rossgier (5:30PM to 6:45PM).
Men’s team training continues as normal on Mondays and Thursdays at the Training Pitch in Rossgier. All players are asked to be on the pitch, ready to begin training at 7:20PM sharp on both nights.
Under-8 and Under 10 team training continues every Saturday morning from 11AM to 12PM at the Lifford Resource Centre AstroTurf. Any children born between 2005 and 2009 are more than welcome to attend. All players are asked to contribute €2 towards the cost of renting the Astroturf.
As always, new players are more than welcome to join any of the Clubs teams.
MINOR BOARD MEETING
The second Minor Board meeting of the year takes place on Monday the 9th of March at the Lifford Resource Centre on the Gallows Lane at 7:30PM. Parents and guardians of all underage players are asked to attend – from Under-8 right up to Minor level (Under-18). Parents with children not currently playing Football with the Club are also welcome to attend, should they wish to pose any questions to the Clubs coaches about their children taking up Gaelic Football with the Club.
STARS IN THEIR EYES FUNDRAISER
Our ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ Fundraiser is now less than 3 weeks away, with the event taking place in Bannigans Bar, Main Street, Lifford on Saturday the 21st of March at 9PM. The event promises to be a great night’s entertainment with a great mix of songs ranging from modern day hits right back to 60’s classics, and everything else in between.
So far we’ve managed to secure the services of country legends Garth Brooks and Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, modern day chart toppers CeeLo Green, Megan Trainor and Katy Perry, as well as ol’ blue eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. We also have Alannah Myles of ‘Black Velvet’ fame performing on the night, as well as one or two additional acts still to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Tickets for the event are now on sale at a cost of €5. Tickets can also be purchased from Bannigans Bar directly. Tickets for the event are selling fast so be sure to get yours they are still available.
