Club asked to take preventative measures to deal with weather alert

By Sinéad Breen Donegal PRO Tue 9th Dec

Met Eireann have issued a severe weather warning for the country. As we enter the winter season weather warnings may be a regular occurrence and all Clubs and counties must be proactive in checking club property in advance of such warnings.

All clubs have invested significant resources into our playing facilities and we need to be as proactive in making sure they are protected and maintained against the elements.

The current weather warnings are for High Wind and all clubs must check their properties and in particular goals and Ball Stop nets.

Retractable Ball Stop nets must be retracted or they are not covered by Insurance if damaged due to High Winds or Storm weather.

Ball stops nets that have not been adequately maintained or are in a poor state of repair will not be covered if they are damaged during periods of high winds / storm weather.
