Two super performances in Croke Park on Sunday against the Dubs have us all dreaming again! Well done to Jim, Declan and all the players on both squads for setting up a massive double header with the Kingdom on September 21st.
At this stage we are asking for adult members only to apply for tickets and to have their application to Elaina by text only to 087-290 1541 by 5pm this coming Monday, September 8th. If you would prefer to apply for a ticket for Hill 16, please state that in your text (they are approx. half the price of a seated ticket). At the time of writing this we still don’t know what the county or club allocation is going to be and if and when we have tickets available for Juveniles to apply for (they must pay full prices too) it will be announced on the club Facebook page and via e-mail.
This Saturday, September 6th we will host the Ulster Óg Sport Gael Finals beginning at 10am. It is the first time we will host the event after last year’s team claimed the crown in Derry. It is a very prestigious event and we still need volunteers to help on the day. Please text Paul McGovern if you can help out in any way on 086-811 4151.
The Junior men were beaten in their championship semi-final by Ardara on Saturday and kicked a lot of wides on the day. We wish Ardara well in the final.
The Donegal U15 Hurling Development squad had a good win last Saturday, taking the All-Ireland U16 C title in a team that included Ryan Hilferty, Shane Maguire, Cian Randles, Eoin McLaughlin and Cathal Kilcullen.
The U16 Boys had a comfortable win over St. Mary’s, Convoy in the championship on Friday evening and they are due to take on Fanad Gaels this Monday evening at home. The Dev. team also play on Monday with a home game v Carndonagh.
The U16 girls had a great win over Moville away on Tuesday evening and will now have a home game in the semi-finals of the championship, possibly next Tuesday (Sept. 9th).
The U13 boys Div. 1 team travel to Carndonagh this Wednesday for a league game, throw-in is at 7pm. The Dev. team has no game.
The U13 girls got their campaign underway on Monday night with a good home win over St. Mary’s, Convoy. They travel to Buncrana this Monday (8th) with the bus leaving Tobin’s at 5:15pm. Training takes place on Thursday between 6:30pm and 7:30pm. The girls will travel to Glenties on Saturday week, Sept. 13th for the Harvest Fair Blitz.
The Gary Doyle Cup was held last Saturday for U11 footballers with some great skills on display. St. Colmcilles from Meath took home the Cup, beating Donaghmore from Tyrone in the Final with our lads defeating Buncrana to win the shield.
