St. Michaels Minor Board
St. Michaels u-12 girls travelled to convoy for a blitz.
We got off to a bad start and unfortunately met Termon, one of the strongest teams in the competition, and we were well beat in that game.
We met McCumhaills in the second game and got off to a flying start and while we took the foot off the gas we won the game by a few points. We went on then to play killybegs in our third game. At this stage the girls were settling into their football and playing the way we knew they could, with Ciara mc Garvey, MaryAnn Mullan, Clara Rodden and Aoife Kelly showing some real class. Some of the younger girls Lauren Russell, Lauren Mullan, Leah Kelly, Danielle Mullan and Michaela Breen all punching well above their weight and playing very well for their team. Leah Kelly laid the ball off to Young Danielle Mullan who scored a lovely point from distance.
We met Carndonagh in our fourth game and again Ciara mc Garvey tortured their defence taking score herself and supplying Aoife Kelly with some great scoring opportunities which she dispatched to the net like a true pro. We had an outstanding midfield display all day from Clara Rodden who just got better and better with every game she played and with MaryAnn and the rest of the defenders making sure nothing got through at the back. The st. Michaels girls were really starting to play as a team and played exceptionally well considering there were no subs and they had to play every minuet of every game. Well done girls.
