GOOD LUCK
Best wishes to Tony Mc Clenaghan and Ciaran Diver who will line out for Donegal in the Ulster Minor final against Armagh we wish them the best of luck as it’s been a long number of years since a Donegal minor and senior team lined out in an Ulster final. The club would like to take this opportunity to wish all players from Inishowen and former Moville senior’s manager Robert Farren all the best on Sunday.
Best wishes to the Donegal senior team who are contesting their fourth Ulster senior final in a row Jim Mc Guinness’s side will be hoping to make it 3 out of 4 in what is a repeat of last year’s Ulster final, it promises to be a great game. For all those travelling to Clones we would appeal that you leave early and support the Minor team in what is a great day for the club to have two players in the squad.

Moville were up against it facing the Division 4 leaders Letterkenny Gaels, who they lost to previously in the league this year. Moville would be without one or two key players for this game and in fact only had the three substitutes for one reason or another. Moville were attaching towards the clubhouse end of the pitch in the first half and got off to a great start with a point from Ciaran Diver in the first minute. Danny Murphy followed that with a point of his own 2 minutes later. Nigel McMonagle pointed on the ten minute mark and there would follow a lull in the scoring as the ball went up and down the midfield in what would prove to be a very physical championship game. Ciaran Diver put the ball over the bar in the 23rd minute from a free and Moville looked good for their 4 point lead at this stage, however a lapse in concentration in injury time before the break led to two points for McBrearty of Letterkenny Gaels in the 31st and 32nd minutes, the first of which was from a free, leaving the half time score Moville 0-04 Letterkenny Gaels 0-02
Despite it having rained heavily all day, the weather remained clear for the duration of the game and the new sand based pitch in Carrick was playing well, proving that the investment in the new turf was extremely worthwhile. The second half began with tit for tat points in the first ten minutes. Seamus Hegarty got the first for Moville in the 32nd minute; and Ciaran Cannon of Letterkenny replied 2 minutes later. Joe McBride pointed in the 38th minute and Gaels’ McBrearty immediately replied from a free a minute later. There was another lull in scoring as the ball remained in the middle of the park where the individual battles were taking place, Niall Cavanagh and Pearce Parkinson having great hustling games for Moville. Ciaran Diver pointed another free for the home side in the 46th minute, and Letterkenny Gaels closed the gap once again from another McBrearty pointed free leaving 2 points between them with less than ten minutes to go. Moville stretched the lead out to 4 points with quick successive scores from Joe McBride and Nigel McMonagle. Gaels closed the gap to 3 points with 5 minutes remaining from a Nicky McGarrigle point. Moville finished out the game with a great point from Joshua Lafferty in the last minute of the game leaving the final score Moville 0-10 Letterkenny Gaels 0-06.
SENIOR RESERVES
The senior reserves travelled to Lifford on Sunday in their second game of the Junior B championship with an under strength team and unfortunately were defeated, but battled hard throughout the game.
MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Moville played Carndonagh on a wet evening last Monday night at home hoping to banish the memories of last season’s championship where it took three games to decide this fixture and it finished in Carndonagh’s favour. This year’s encounter was equally tense with Moville coming out as victors by the narrowest of margins, defeating Carndonagh by 2-07 to 1-09. Ciaran Diver was in fine form and pointed a 45 and two scores from outside of 50 yards in open play as well as raising the green flag. The next fixture has been postponed due to county games and will be on Facebook when the fixture is known.
SENIOR LADIES
The ladies had a good win Wedensday night in the 13 a side against Glenfin, this league excludes any players playing for the county. We played Glenfin again on Sunday morning with an under strength team in 15 a side. Although the ladies did not come away with the victory they put in a tremendous effort in the second half and made a great account of themselves. Training continues on Wednesdays and Sundays.
