Senior Football
Congrats from all in the club to Caolann McGonagle and John Campbell in Sunday’s Minor match against Derry..
and what a debut for Darrach O’Connor in his Senior Championship debut, scoring his and Donegal’s first point.
s and more.s great to see our wee club punching so high above
its weight. Paul McGonigle will be a tired man on Monday from all his running around the pitch during the game
and good to see his advice worked to such good effect.
However advice from the fashion police (Abaigh, Lauren & co) is to lose the leggings!

Underage Reports
U14 Div 1 Championship On Wednesday Buncrana played St Eunan’s in the 2nd round robin championship game. A big improvement was needed from
last week and the boys didn’t disappoint. They all worked hard for each other and showed great skill,
especially their handling in wet conditions. Buncrana settled well and got a couple of early goals to lead at the break by 7.
However, as happened twice last year with the same opposition they were reeled back in and with 2 minutes left were ahead by only
1 point. St Eunan’s big full forward then broke through the hard working defence to score the cruelest of goals and again steal the win. Well done to all the boys for a fantastic game and effort shown. Best for Buncrana were John Vaughan & Keegan Hegarty, as they worked all night for their team mates. Final score Buncrana 4-6 vs 4-8 St Eunan’s. Next up is Carndonagh next Wednesday 28th.
U14 hurlers are in the Division 1 League Final versus St Eunan’s on Thursday night 29th in Burt. The team have scored 22 goals
56 points in their last 4 games and conceded 2 points, which is some going! Good luck to the boys and all support welcome.
Buncrana U12’s played McCools last Monday night and ran out comfortable winners with a scoreline of 4-12 to 0-06.
The game was played in good sprit by both sets of players with Buncrana getting off to a good start and pressuring for every ball
right from the off.
So often in the past we have lost these games in the first 10 minutes but persistent rollicking seems to have hit home and
hopefully we can build on this dominant display! Most pleasing for management was the passing and link up play.
Throughout the team, the boys have been tirelessly working on passing the ball and the stronger players did this selflessly
which must be commended at any age level. Unfortunately for McCools they did not adopt this strategy and allowed 2 or 3
of their more dominant players to carry the ball into trouble all night resulting in turnover ball, quick passing
and clinical finishing for scores by the home side.
The u14 girls also had a great win against Malin last Wednesday night….well done girls.
U12 boys are away to Convoy in the league on Monday night. They are also getting ready for the U12 42 team All-Irelands in Newry on June 7th. We’re sure there’ll be full attendance at training if players want to get picked for this prestigious event.
