EASTER CAMP
Last week, we held our 2nd ever Easter Camp, this year we had even greater numbers attending the 3-day event
(in excess of 100) and the camp was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
We would like to thank the following people that helped to make the Easter Camp such as success:
Firstly to Charlie Byrne who coordinated the Camp ensuring that everything ran smoothly,
to coaches Declan Lafferty, Paul Fildara, Maria Mc Laughlin F, Jennifer Mc Laughlin, Gary Farren,
Danny Mc Carron, Thomas Mc Laughlin, Packo Fildara, Amy Mc Clean.
Also to Siobhan Farren & Christopher Fildara who helped out.
To Cecilia who ran the shop, and to Susan and Joe for their assistance.
To Jane Doherty who provided all the photos of Easter Camp, which can be viewed on our cub facebook page.
To Stephen Fildara who visited the Camp on the final day and
presented each child with a football and took the time to go around each of the groups while they were doing their skills to offer some tips and advice. To all the parents/guardians who took their children to the camp each day. We would like also like to say a huge thank you to Danny Lafferty who came up with original idea and finally to all our junior members who were all so well behaved and were a credit to themselves, their parents and our club and to everyone who contributed to the success of the camp. Thank you & Well Done Everyone!
MENS FOOTBALL
Our adult sides had a weekend off due to Donegal’s inclusion in the National League Division
2 final in Croke Park on Sunday but they return to action with a home game against
current league champions St Eunans in Connolly Park on Sunday.
The senior game gets underway at 3, while the reserve match has a 1.30 throw in.
Both sides will be keen to get their first points of the season on the board
and we would welcome as much support as possible.
LADIES FOOTBALL
Our senior ladies got their season off to a flyer with a hard earned victory over Lifford in Connolly Park on Sunday.
This is our first season back in the league after a short break and Sundays win was testament
to their hard work and training over the winter, but as the saying goes “one swallow doesn’t make a summer”
and the girls will be hoping to build on their win when they travel to Letterkenny to take on Letterkenny Gaels on Sunday.
COUNTY FOOTBALLERS
Commiserations to Declan, Stephen and the Donegal panel who were defeated in the Division 2
National League final in Croke Park by Monaghan on Sunday.
Congratulations to Robert Farren who is a selector in the Donegal minor panel,
which clinched the Ulster Minor League by defeating Tyrone in Brewster Park on Saturday.
Both senior and minor panels will have their next competitive outing when they lock horns with Derry in Celtic Park next month.
CLUB SHOP
The Malin GAA club shop will be open in the clubhouse on Saturdays from 12-2 and on Sundays from 11-15 to 2-00. There are a large selection of club merchandise in stock, which can be purchased on the day.
A list of other club gear, hoodies, rain jackets, shorts, socks, hats, scarves, kit bags etc are also available to order.
The Malin half zipped training tops sponsored by Mark Monagle
of 4Mark Construction are also available to order and are proving very popular.
Club vouchers are now also available and would make an ideal birthday present,
or for any occasion. For more details, contact Susan on 07493 70638.
LOTTO
There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €550. The sequence drawn was 6-1-5-7-4-2-3. The 50 euro winner was Gerard Rustard, Ballylannon.
The €20 sellers prize went to The Kelly Family.
Next weeks jackpot stands €6000 and as always we would like to thank
the local community for their continued support of our weekly lotto draw.
Envelopes are just €2 or 3 for €5 euro and are available in most pubs
and shops in the area or alternatively from our band of young eager sellers.
Just select the numbers 1-7 in the correct order to be in with a chance of scooping the jackpot.
