DONEGAL GAA – COMMERCIAL AND MARKETING MANAGER
Based in Donegal
Cumann Lúthchleas Gael is Ireland’s leading sporting and cultural organisation with membership approaching one million people and in excess of 500,000 playing participants at all levels. Inspired by its amateur status and supported by the voluntary efforts of all its members, the GAA devotes its entire resources to the development of Gaelic Games and Culture nationally and in local communities.
Donegal GAA represents 40 clubs, membership approaching 25,000 and massively supported teams at all levels across all codes. In order to implement a new commercial and marketing strategy, Donegal GAA is seeking an ambitious and experienced professional to lead this new and exciting function. This is a senior position reporting directly to the Executive Committee of Donegal GAA and will afford the successful applicant the opportunity to lead the commercial development of one of the top GAA Counties in Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial/marketing/sponsorship professional.
Responsibilities shall include:
Developing and executing Donegal GAA’s commercial strategy and brand development.
Implementing new commercial structures to support the overall commercial objectives of
Generating new commercial income streams for Donegal GAA.
Leading the partnership & sponsorship strategy, managing and developing existing partners & sponsors, and building new partnerships and relationships.
Establishing, cultivating and managing relationships with all marketing and corporate stakeholders, and delivering on all sponsorship rights for Donegal GAA partners & sponsors. Assisting with the proactive marketing of Gaelic Games in Donegal.
Managing the expectations of all stakeholders in the Donegal GAA family.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a marketing or commercial role.
Demonstrably excellent leadership skills and influencing ability.
Strong strategic, creative and organisational skills.
Experience in procurement and negotiation of commercial partnerships and sponsor relationships.
Experience in managing partner & sponsor relationships or managing a sponsor portfolio.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines; evidence of adopting a hands-on approach to getting things done.
Possess a deep understanding of the commercial aspects of sport.
A passion for Gaelic Games and an understanding of the unique structures of the GAA.
Demonstrably excellent communication and relationship skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and tangible results.
Relevant third level qualification.
