CLUB NOTES FOR WEEK ENDING 16 AUGUST 2015

Minor Board notes Aug 11th in association with Kelly’s CENTRA Mountain top Letterkenny

Coaching for U6s and U8s continues on Saturday morning 10.30-11.30 at The Burn Road. Liam and Jim have a few more games planned for the U8s in the coming weeks so we hope to see all boys and girls on Saturday morning. Likewise Paul, Aidan and Conal are hoping to have a mini league for our U6s in the next few weeks. Keep up the good work lads

U10s match away to Glenfin this Thursday evening @ 6.30. Leave Burn Rd at 5.40. Would parents please contact David 0851305332 so we can organise transport. Glenfin advised that we need to be starting at 6.30 sharp. U10 coaching will continue at The Burn Rd on Sat 10.30-11.45 as normal. There has been a great improvement in the skills shown at training so well done to all. Remember to keep practising at home, especially soloing / kicking with the weaker foot.

Coaching for U12 boys will resume this Saturday 11.45 – 1pm at The Burn Road. With the Jamie Toner tournament due to take place in September and as we have been invited to take part in the Hugh Glass tournament in Maghera in Derry on Oct 3rd and with plans to enter a second U13 team in this years U13 competition which is due to start in two weeks, it’s very important that the boys attend Saturdays coaching if possible. Any queries to Eddie on 086 6082512 or Paddy on 087 2175234.

Well done to the U14 boys who secured their place in the Northern Board Div 1 Championship semi final with a 3.19 to 3.07 victory over Mc Cumhaills on Monday evening. A great reaction goal from Steve Mc Daid with a few minutes to go in the first half was crucial in restoring our lead after Mc Cumhaills had recovered from a 6 point deficit to take the lead after 25 minutes. A Ryan Mc Fadden goal and an insurance goal again from Big Steve secured the victory. With 6 different scorers contributing it was a good team performance. The Semi Final takes place this Friday in Gweedore with a 7pm throw in, all support would be greatly appreciated.

Our U16s are due to play Urris next week, time date and venue to be confirmed, in their previously postponed Div 2 Championship match. Details at training later this week.

Best of luck to Paul Doherty, Coach and Shane Doherty our representative on the Donegal U16 team in this weekend’s Buncrana Cup.

Despite Monday’s heavy rain this week’s Cúl Camp is proving to be a huge success. 113 children are in attendance, a record for us, and the feedback has been hugely positive after the opening two days. A huge thanks to Paddy Mc Menamin for his hard work with this prior to the start of the camp and for his presence at the camp for the week to ensure the smooth running of the week’s activities.

Finally, Ádh Mór to all our Leaving Cert students receiving results tomorrow.

Cúl Camp:

Finally it has arrived, the week the kids have been waiting for and what numbers, despite the poor weather on Monday 111 kids turned up. From Grace at u5 to Kevin and Mark from u13 it’s for all underage kids, with plenty of coaches their enthusiasm is rubbing off on children, so hopefully the weather picks up for rest of week. Any kids looking to do the last 3 days, contact Paddy 0872175234
