Dinner Dance

The Club held a very successful Annual Dinner Dance in Arnolds Hotel Dunfanaghy on Saturday night last. The clubs successful senior team who won the All County League Division 1 in 2015 the Democrat Cup were honoured. The Special Guests on the night were Mick McGinley (Hudai) originally from Kilmacloo in Creeslough who won a Junior League Medal in 1954. Mick was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Liam McElhinney; and local man Eamon McFadden from the Donegal Democrat. The MC for the night was Club Chairman Liam McElhinney. The senior team were presented with their medals by Mick McGinley (Hudai) and Eamon McFadden. The following Club Awards were also given out on the night. Eoghan Kelly was given an award for being part of the Under 16 Buncranna Cup Team by Shaun Langan. Jamie Hunter and Odhrán McFadden who were on the County Under 17 team was given an award by Anne Marie Kelly and Manus Friel.

Michael Langan who is the Club’s sole representative on the County Under 21 Team received an award from Michael McColgan.

The Young Reserve Player of the Year Jamie Hunter received his award from Lorcan Roarty from Roses Bar Creeslough.

The Reserve Team Player of the Year Denis Trearty was presented with his award by Dominic Carr.

Peter Sweeney collected the Under 21 Player of the Year Award on behalf of his brother Cathal from Dominic Carr.

Senior Team Manager Eddie Harkin presented Ciarán Kelly with the Young Senior Player of the Year Award.

Geoffrey Black representing the Clubs Main Sponsor Denis Harley Molly’s Bar presented the Senior Players of the Year jointly to Ciaran Gallagher and Andrew Kelly.

St. Michael’s Club President made an appreciation award to Senior Team Manager Eddie Harkin. The Clubperson of the Year Award was presented to Brian Dolan by Danny Langan. Patricia Kelly made a presentation to Special Guest Eamon McFadden and Liam McElhinney made a presentation to Mick Hudai McGinley and inducted him into the clubs Hall of Fame.

They will go on display in the Clubhouse at the Bridge.

Comortas Peile Na Gaeltachta

The Reserve team are away to Na Dunibh in the first round of Comortas Peile Na Gaeltachta Soisear on this Saturday the 27th February at 12noon.

The Seniors are at home to Naomh Mhuire in the First round of Comortas Peile Na Gaeltachta Sinsir on Saturday the 5th March at 10.30am. Please note throw in time.

St. Michael’s Mini Lotto

There was no Jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday Night last; The numbers drawn were 3,6,8,9,11,14. There were 2 Match 5 winners, Luke Rooney Roscad and Fidelma McCarry Kildarragh. This weeks Jackpot be €2850. The Club would like to thank Brian and Margaret Anne Dolan, Molly’s Bar Dunfanaghy, Seamus Sweeney Kildarragh Construction Philadelphia, Shaun Langan Creeslough Pallets and Michael McColgan Dunfanaghy for their continuing sponsorship of the lotto jackpot, it is very much appreciated.

Tickets are on sale in local businesses in Dunfanaghy and Creeslough and at the Bingo Session in Massinass Community Centre Creeslough on Sunday evenings, tickets for the St. Michaels Mini Lotto can now also be purchased on line anywhere at at onlinelotto on facebook .

Drive Home in Style from the Bingo in Creeslough

The winner of the €100 on the 5th game at the Bingo Session in the Massinass Community Centre on Sunday night last was Leo Callaghan Australia; the €100 on the 9th game was shared by Aoife Carolan, Eddie Flood and Ava Murray who won €35 each.

You could win a car on every game every Sunday night at the Bingo Session in the Massinass Community Centre Creeslough by winning a house on 45 nos or less. Check on 45 Numbers or less with the magic number in the panel and the lucky number drawn in the first five numbers of that game, you win the car or €10,000. The normal Snowball is also in place every night. The Magic Number from 1 to 90 is drawn out every Sunday night before the bingo begins. The car was in play last Sunday night but was not won. In addition every House winner will receive a free entry to the weekly lotto, this weeks Jackpot is €2850. The single book is €8. Bingo continues every Sunday evening at 8pm in the Massinass Community Centre

St. Michael’s Lotto Rota

The names for the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto Rota for this Saturday night the 27th February Dunfanaghy Hugh O’Donnell and Martin McGarvey, Creeslough Michael Gallagher; 5th March Dunfanaghy Rose Toye and Brid Gallagher, Creeslough John Sheridan.

County Coaches

County Coaches will be visiting the National Schools in the club area in March and April.

Yearbooks

Copies of the 2015 Donegal GAA Yearbooks are on sale in the Post Offices in Dunfanaghy and Creeslough Post Offices priced €10 and would make an ideal Christmas present in a year which saw St. Michael’s claim their first ever senior title.

Nicola is currently gathering photographs for the clubhouse. If anyone has ANY team photographs from winning senior, reserve, u21 or any underage teams in league/championship/Gaeltacht she would really appreciate if you let her know. All hard copies of the photos will be returned to you safely once we make a copy of them or likewise photos can be emailed to secretary.stmichaels.donegal@gaa.ie

Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure is now stocking St Michaels club gear in children and adult sizes.

Initials can be embroidered on tops if requested in the shop.

St. Michael’s Minor Board

U14s

Training now takes place every FRIDAY evening at the Bridge @7pm . The bus is €3 and leaves Creeslough at 6.30pm .

Note : Everyone must be registered with the Club before either training or playing in matches takes place . Registration Is €15 and forms can be got in Creeslough Post Office or by contacting Suzi or Ann Marie Kelly.
