Scór na nÓg:  Comhghairdeas le achán duine agus achán chlub a ghlac páirt i Scór na nÓg anuraidh. Congratulations to all who took part in Scór na nÓg as well as the host clubs for the three semi finals in Beart, Droim a’ Róín and Rath Mealtán. Gaoth Dobhair’s organising committee of Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair deserves congratulations and míle buíochas for their level of preparation and presentation for the county final. All three semi finals were well attended and well run as was the final. A total of 30 clubs took part in Scór na nÓg in Donegal in the 2018/2019 season and this was the same number of clubs that took part in 2017/2018 season.  The county champions are listed below.

  • Léiriú Stáitse: Gleann tSúilí
  • Ceol Uirlise: Bun a’ Phobail
  • Tráth na gCeist: Naomh Adhamhnáin (Naomh Columba attended All Ireland finals)

The Donegal competitors acquitted themselves well at the Ulster semi final in Silverbridge on Saturday 1st December with two acts getting through to the Ulster final. Comhghairdeas le Gleann tSúilí sa leiriú agus Bun a’ Phobail sa cheol uirlise a fuair fríd go babhta ceannais Uladh i mBéal Átha an Airgid ar an 12ú Eanair 2019. Míle buíochas to all those who took part in Scór na nÓg, their cultural officers, mentors and clubs for keeping Scór alive and well in Donegal. Míle buíochas also to all who adjudicated and acted as Máistir/Máistreas na gCeist and Fear/Bean a’ Tí at the various semi finals and finals.

Buíochas:       Míle buíochas to all who assisted in promoting scór na nÓg in Donegal. This included the local radio stations, local press and local photographers.

Scór Sinsir:    The county final of Scór Sinsir was held in Gleann Fhinne on the 8th February following the two semi finals in Muff on the 25th January and Burtonport on the 1st February. 20 clubs took part in Scór Sinsir this year with a total of 39 stage acts and 17 quiz teams.

The winners went on to represent Donegal in the Ulster semi final in Banbridge, Co. Down on Sunday 10th March. Four acts (Solo Singing, Recitation, Ballad Group and the Léiriú) got through to the Ulster final agus comhghairdeas le Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn a bhain babhta ceannais Uladh sa Léiriú Stáitse. Letterkenny Gaels gave a tremendous performance at the All Ireland finals of Scór Sinsir in Castlebar but the winners on the day were the Munster champions. Gaeil Fhánada took part in the All Ireland finals of Tráth na gCeist but will also have to try again to recapture their past glory at National level.

50-Year Celebration of Scór in Donegal

An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny.

This event is a celebration of Scór in County Donegal over the last 50 years, and is hosted by Donegal GAA. It will include past Donegal All-Ireland and Ulster winners, and Fergus McGee will be the MC on the night. Taking part in this concert will be a host of our (Donegal) All Ireland champions and Ulster champions over the years. A good night is assured. Admission is €10.00.
