Clg Red Hughs Killygordon, are hosting a 24hr walk/run this Saturday & Sunday in order to raise much need funds for Caolan Melaugh.
Little Caolan was just 10 weeks old when it was discovered that he had Stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma.Caolan is the son of Red Hughs senior player Gerard Melaugh and former ladies player Stacey (nee Matthewson) – grandad Noel is also one of our club groundsmen. Baby Caolan is currently going through treatment in Our Ladys’ Hospital Crumlin and will receive high intensity chemotherapy over the next 18mths which will hopefully leave him cancer free.
However, patients with Neuroblastoma have an 80% chance of relapse. Treatment in Ireland for re-lapse cases is very limited which means, he could need other treatment outside of Ireland in Europe or USA. This would involve numerous overseas trips.
So if you could please let your club members and teams know of this event and possibly share the poster attached on your social media page, the event starts @1pm on Saturday the 20th of June and finishes on Sunday @1pm.Our aim is to have a leader for each hour, where they will hopefully get 20 people to sponsor them €10 each and will join them in walking/running for part of the hour.
