*Donegal U14 Ladies Defeated in All Ireland Final*
Hard luck to Kellyann Buchanan, Claudia Ward, Bronagh Durning, Megan Ryan, and Maria Afxentiou and all the rest of the Donegal U14 team and management who were defeated 2-10 to 1-8 by Tipperary in the All Ireland Final on Saturday. Nevertheless, to reach an All Ireland Final is an incredible achievement and they should hold their heads up and be proud of themselves, the Club and County certainly are.

*U14 Ladies in County Final*
CLG BnaG v Gaoth Dobhair
MacCumhaill Park, Saturday @ 3pm
The rescheduled U14 Final between ourselves and Gaoth Dobhair has been fixed for this Saturday at 3pm in MacCumhaill Park. If as many as possible could come out to get behind the girls it would be much appreciated.

*Seniors*
Red Hughs 0-6 CLG BnaG 1-8
It wasn’t a vintage performance on Sunday from Na Galloglaigh but they did enough away to Red Hughs in a fairly feisty top v bottom encounter. The boys played well in the first half and after Red Hughs pointed a free after 3 minutes they scored 6 unanswered points from Tj Evesson, Cathal Mc Gettigan (3), Kane Barrett and Christopher Barrett to leave the score 0-1 to 0-6 after 23 minutes. The lead almost stretched further when a great team move started by a superb Sean Gallagher kick out which found TJ Evesson and a flowing team move saw Joey Cullen’s effort come back off the post. Red Hughs were reduced to 14 men after 28 minutes after a melee ensued after Pauric Curley was fouled going down for the ball. Moments later Christopher Barrett turned over a Red Hughs defender after a short kick out who played in Cathal McGettigan who passed across the face of goal for Kane Barrett to finish to the net. Red Hughs replied with a point just before the break when a high looping effort descended on Sean Gallaghers net and he palmed the ball onto the top of the crossbar and over for a point. With the score at 0-2 to 1-6 and with an extra man as well as the breeze at their backs for the second half most would have assumed Na Galloglaigh would push on and put the game to bed in the second half with relative ease. However Red Hughs never lay down and Na Galloglaigh were sloppy in possession at times, taking the wrong options and giving poor passes as well as some wayward shooting. The game was nearly put to rest right at the start of the second half when some great work by Kyle Black saw him pop a pass over to Joey Cullen at the back post but the pass was just too high and Cullens fisted effort went wide. Red Hughs had their full forward black carded after 36 minutes but in fairness to them they never gave up and scored 3 more points before Kane Barrett got only Na Galloglaighs second score of the half after 55 minutes, 23 minutes after McGettigan had scored the first. Red Hughs tapped over a consolation free going into injury time but in the end the boys had enough done to win 0-6 to 1-8. Per the website there is no fixture now until Buncrana at home on the 8th or 9th of August. Team: Sean Gallagher. Kieran Sheridan, Sean Black, Gavin Grier, TJ Evesson (0-1), Enda McHugh, Gary Merritt, Jonny Logue, Joey Cullen, Pauric Curley, Christopher Barrett (0-1), Kyle Black, Kane Barrett (1-2), Cathal McGettigan (0-4), Paddy Peoples. Subs: Adam Serrinha for K. Black (49m), Brandon Toye for Peoples (50m), Kieran Mc Laughlin for McHugh (57m), Barry McNulty, Shay Durning, Dylan Hegarty, Dean Burgess

Downings 1-11 CLG BnaG 2-11
Na Galloglaigh made it 4 wins in a row on the road with a cool and clinical win over neighbours Downings on Wednesday night. The boys began the contest brightly with Cathal Mc Gettigan getting the opening point from a free after 2 minutes and this was followed up by a Christopher Barrett point 3 minutes later. It could have been an even better start shortly after but Tj Evesson’s fisted effort at goal went narrowly wide. Downings were mainly limited to opportunities from frees in a game in which the referee seemed to deem any physical contact as a foul. Downings levelled the game up with 2 frees before a great catch from Enda McHugh started a flowing team move which resulted in Kane Barrett firing to the back of the net for the opening goal. It got even better 2 minutes later when a great Joey Cullen run found Kieran Sheridan in nosebleed territory and he finished coolly to the bottom corner for the second goal. Downings replied with 4 points in a row before they were awarded a penalty which seemed extremely soft to the visitors. Sean Gallagher got a hand to the spotkick but it still finished in the back of the net to put the Downings men into the lead for the first time. Na Galloglaigh responded very very well to this setback and rattled off 3 points, 2 from Cathal McGettigan and 1 from Christopher Barrett which saw the blues go back in front at half time 1-7 to 2-5. The second half was slow to get going in what was a measured performance from the boys. 2 points from McGettigan and 1 from Kyle Black put 3 points between the sides as the game entered the final quarter. The boys had another great goal chance shortly after this, Adam Serrinha won the breaking the ball to release Pauric Curley, whose superb pass found McGettigan completely and utterly unmarked on the edge of the box, but the referee, who had played advantage the whole game, called play back for a free, and gave the Downings corner back his marching orders. Kane Barrett popped over the free and a couple of minutes later the boys had another goal chance to kill the game. Another great pass from Curley found Serrinha who released TJ Evesson bearing down on goal but his pass fell just behind Kane Barrett, who recovered well to take his point. Downings scored 3 unanswered points in the last couple of minutes to make for a nervy finale, before a Kane Barrett free in the 63rd minute wrapped up the points for the visitors. Next up is an away game to Red Hughs, the 5th away game in a row for Na Galloglaigh, on Sunday at 3pm. Team: Sean Gallagher, Kieran Sheridan (1-0), Sean Black, Gary Merritt, TJ Evesson, Enda McHugh, Pauric Curley, Jonny Logue, Joey Cullen, Kyle Black (0-1), Christopher Barrett (0-2), Adam Serrinha, Gavin Grier, Cathal McGettigan (0-5), Kane Barrett (1-3). Subs: Paddy Peoples for K. Black (57m), Barry McNulty, Shay Durning, Paul Grier, Dylan Hegarty, Kieran Mc Laughlin, Caolan Mc Gettigan

*Reserves*
Red Hughs 1-7 CLG BnaG 0-19
Na Galloglaigh got back to winnings ways on Sunday with their first win in four games. In a good victory the boys played very well in the first half, defending well and breaking in numbers. It took a wee while to get the scoreboard ticking but when they eventually got going they were 0-5 to 0-11 up at half time. In a game which seen all 19 points coming from play and with 8 different scorers the boys were in complete control for the majority of the game. Bar a sloppy late goal, and a black card for Tony McGettigan, they had defended well and were clinical up front. With 4 of the remaining 6 games at home these lads are still in with a great chance of winning their league if they keep up the work rate and effort they showed today. Team: Gavin McFadden, Tony McGettigan, Barry McNulty, Kieran Mc Laughlin, Shay Durning, Paul Grier, Ryan Ferry, Kieran Gorman (0-1), Anthony Fisher (0-2), Caolan Mc Gettigan, Luke Trearty (0-5), Emmet Conaghan, Dean Burgess (0-1), Dylan Hegarty (0-6), James Whelan (0-2). Subs: Ciaran McHugh (0-1) and Paddy Mc Carron (0-1) for Conaghan and McLaughlin (HT), Connor Jason Meakin for T. McGettigan (BC, 45m), Patrick Ferry for Durning (46m)

Downings 2-12 CLG BnaG 0-3
Our Reserves poor run of form continued on Wednesday night with defeat to neighbours Downings in Pairc na nDunaibh. There is no doubt Downings deserved their win however the game was a bit closer than the scoreboard reflects. Playing with a decent wind Na Galloglaigh were guilty of not taking their chances but were made to work hard for them by the Downings defence. The boys suffered a late setback as Mark Flood was given a harsh black card in the dying moments of the half, and the lads ended up going in a point down at half time 0-3 to 0-2. Downings had more legs and pace all over the field and used the big pitch to their advantage with the breeze at their backs in the second half. They got off to a good start to the second period with several points before a goal after 40 minutes, despite a great initial save from Gavin McFadden. Luke Trearty caught some superb ball in and around midfield as the boys struggled at times to break out of their half in the early stages of the second half. Na Galloglaigh themselves had a couple of goal chances in the second half which they were unlucky not to take. Downings killed the game off with 10 minutes to go with a second goal and ran out fairly comfortable winners in the end. Despite the run of 3 straight defeats the Reserves are only 1 point off top and still well in with a chance of winning the league. Next up for the Reserves is an away game to Red Hughs on Sunday at 1.30pm. Team: Gavin McFadden, Dean Boyce, Barry McNulty, Eddie Boyce, Shay Durning, Paul Grier, Ryan Ferry, Luke Trearty, Paul Sweeney, Dylan Hegarty, Caolan Mc Gettigan (0-2), Paddy Mc Carron, Kieran Gorman, Mark Flood, Hugh Mc Menamin. Subs: Jamie Heena for Flood (BC, 29m), Conor McNulty for D. Boyce (HT), Cathal Diver for E. Boyce (45m), Emmet Conaghan for McCarron (45m), Patrick Ferry for Durning (50m), Odhrán Coll for McMenamin (50m)

*U12s*
Our U12s finished their go games for the season on Saturday in O’Donnell Park against St Eunans in the northern Division 1 Semi Finals. The B team was first up and put on the performance of the season to defeat a unbeaten St Eunans B team. The whole team were brilliant throughout. The A team were not so lucky as they came up against a very impressive Eunans team. They struggled to cope in the first half, but it was very pleasing to watch in the second half where they were the better team but left themselves to much to do. Callum Orsi and Owen McElhinney were excellent in defence and Eoin O’Donnell was the best player on the park. The U12s will have a break for a few weeks now.
