Our senior footballers suffered a narrow defeat at home to St Eunans on Saturday evening in Connolly Park, going down 0-12 to 2-10. The reserve game v St Eunans was called off at short notice. Next weekend we face the long journey to the west of the county to take on Gweedore. Check out the parish bulletin and our facebook/twitter page for throw in times.
The senior ladies panel will be hoping to follow up on their impressive win v Lifford last weekend when they take on Red Hughs on Sunday in Connolly Park. The girls recorded an impressive 2-11 to 2-5 in their opening league game at home to Lifford. The Malin team was Marian Collins, Jennifer Mc Laughlin, Angela O Donnell, Marion O Donnell, Natalie O Meara, Maureen Collins, Grainne Byrne (Captain), Linda Mc Colgan, Debbie Mc Laughlin, Chelsea Stevens, Emer Lafferty, Amy Mc Clean, Una Mc Laughlin, Frances Mc Donald and Christina Mc Laughlin. Subs Rachel Kelly, Eimear Mc Colgan, Roseena Mc Laughlin and Shauna Mc Laughlin. Sundays game will have a 12 noon throw in and we would appreciate as much support as possible.
The Under 16 squad defeated Burt in the latest round of games in the Darren Downey and Gary McLaughlin Memorial Cup on a 1-13 to 2-5 scoreline.
Our 14 footballers were suffered a heart breaking defeat last week, going down by the bare minimum v N Colmcille in the Northern Board Semi final. The disappointment of such a narrow defeat, will hopefully spur the lads on in their upcoming Inishowen final.
The Under 12 boys take on Urris this week in the Inishowen Go Games.
Both our Under 8 boys and girls squads will be in action this Saturday morning when Muff pay a visit to Connolly Park. All support welcome.
Well done to the Under 14 girls panel who played Carndonagh last week, the final score was not a true reflection of the effort put in by each and every girl. The team was Seanain Mc Laughlin, Laura Mc Geoghegan, Tara Kelly, Katie Farren, Emily O Brien, Alana Mc Daid, Rachel Harkin, Siobhan Farren, Breda Doherty, Stephanie Doherty, Ciara Mc Laughlin, Diane Mc Gilloway, Ellen Keys, Ailbhe Mc Laughlin, Rachel Doran, Claudia Mc Laughlin and Jasmine. The girls take on Moville in their next outing.
The Malin GAA club shop will be open in the clubhouse on Saturdays from 12-2 and on Sundays from 11-15 to 2-00. There are a large selection of club merchandise in stock, which can be purchased on the day. A list of other club gear, hoodies, rain jackets, shorts, socks, hats, scarves, kit bags etc are also available to order. The Malin half zipped training tops sponsored by Mark Monagle of 4Mark Construction are also available to order and are proving very popular. Congratulations to Pat Coffey, Malin Head who matched the correct sequence in our lotto draw and scooped the € 600 jackpot. The sequence drawn was 6-5- 3-2-1-4-7.
