ALL IRELAND FINALS
Excitement is building by the day as we edge closer to the final of both Senior and Minor Football championships in Croke Park on Sunday, and with our club represented in both panels, its another landmark day in the history of Malin GAA. We would urge all supporters who are travelling over the weekend to take care on the roads and make a special effort to get to Croke Park early to sample the atmosphere and to give the minor squad the support they so richly deserve. The minor game has a 1-30 throw in, with the senior game getting underway at 3.30. Best of luck to Declan, Stephen and Robert in their quest to bring their respective titles back to Donegal. For anyone who was unable to secure a ticket, the minor game will be broadcast on TG4 while the senior game will be shown on RTE2. Who knows, by 5.30 on Sunday evening, we may be making plans to bring 2 sought after trophies back to Donegal.
UP FOR THE MATCH
With everyone kitted out in their Green & Gold in the clubhouse, Saturdays event was another unforgettable night for all in attendance. Newly appointed priest Fr Shaun Diver!!! began proceedings by delivering The Apostles Creed to Jim, Paul & the squad. Followed by a video, it was the turn of MC Pat Mc Laughlin to do what he does best and got the panelists Anthony Molloy, Donal Campbell & Danny Quinn into a discussion about Donegal GAA. Recalling the 1992 All Ireland win & changes that have occurred since, what GAA means to them & the relationship of schools & Gaelic football were all up for discussion. As we approached the half way mark, the crowd were taken back to 1995 & to the Rocky Theme tune as a young Jim Mc Guinness entered the room. Its rumoured that someone fainted in the back at the room…we believe this was due to shock & not the dazzling sight of the young Jim. During half time, we were treated to highlights from the 2012 & the 1992 All Ireland Finals.
Into the second half, & back to the job at hand where Pat put more questions to the guests. This half was more an open question round to the crowd. We then stepped into the Malin GAA time machine and were transported forward to the year 2040 where Pat met the future Jim Mc Guinness & wee helper. Following this we had our Special Guest of the evening, Garth Brooks making his entrance (thankfully there were no objections for the Millbrook residents) and despite needing three questionable security men.& he rounded off the show with the crowd on their feet singing to the Hills of Donegal. A huge thank you to the three panelists Anthony Molloy, Donal Campbell, & Danny Quinn who all travelled long distances to attend. Thanks to MC Pat Mc Laughlin and all who helped out in the background. We would also like to thank all who attended on Saturday night and helped make the night such a success!
UNDER 16 GIRLS
Well Done to the U16 Girls Team that defeated Red Hugh’s on Saturday afternoon. With a impressive scoreline of Malin 8:14 to 3:09, the girls put forward a excellent display & were deserving winners on the day. Once again, Well Done to the Team & Management on their win.
CLUB SHOP
The Malin GAA club shop will be open in the clubhouse on Saturdays from 12-2 and on Sundays from 11-15 to 2-00. There are a large selection of club merchandise in stock, which can be purchased on the day. A list of other club gear, hoodies, rain jackets, shorts, socks, hats, scarves, kit bags etc are also available to order. The Malin

LOTTO
There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €1400, sequence drawn was 6-3-4-2-7-1-5. €50 winner was Kate Gibbons, Malin Head. Winner of the €20 sellers prize was Seamus Doherty (PM), Malin Head. Next weeks jackpot is €1450 and as always we would like to thank the local community for their continued support of our weekly lotto draw. Envelopes are just €2 or 3 for €5 euro and are available in most pubs and shops in the area or alternatively from our band of young eager sellers.
GET FIT WITH CHARLIE
Get fit with Charlie continues after its summer break. Come along and shed some of the summer pounds. Classes will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6-30 to 7-30 for women. While men classes get underway on the same nights from 7-30 to 8-30, all classes take place in the Malin GAA centre.
IRISH DANCING CLASSES
Irish dancing classes upstairs in the Clubhouse, each Wednesday at 4pm and every Saturday at 12.30. All new starters welcome. For more information contact Donna on 086 2615755.
