Our senior footballers had an excellent weekend when they registered two wins on the road over the Bank Holiday weekend
in Division 1 of the All County League. On Saturday evening as they recorded a 1-13 to 0-7 victory over Termon in the
Burn Road. A Michael Byrne penalty helping them on their way. They followed this up on Monday with a narrow one-point win in Dunfanaghy, beating St Michaels 1-10 to 0-12. A first half goal from Brendan Mc Laughlin (Fildara)
ensuring the points came home. The reserves had mixed fortunes over the weekend, claiming their first win
of the league season when defeating Termon 0-10 to 1-5, but were extremely unlucky to lose by a goal v St Michaels
on Monday. There cause wasn’t helped when they were reduced to 14 men midway through the first half.
Next weekend, we travel the length of the county to take on Kilcar. Check out our club social media pages
and the parish bulletin for more details later in the week.
Well done to the both the Under 8 boys and girls squad who travelled to Burt at the weekend.
Both sides acquitted themselves very well and are due to travel to Urris this coming Saturday.
Well done to the U10 Girls who were victorious in the Under 10 blitz held in Connolly Park at the weekend.
The girls took on Urris, Moville & Steelstown from Derry. In the semi final they defeated Urris, which lead
them into the final against Steelstown. In a dramatic & intense game the U10s enjoyed their first victory
of the season against the Derry side. We would like to thank everyone involved in the blitz & look forward to
the rest of our upcoming games. Well done to the U10 Boys who played against Steelstown morning in a challenge match.

An absolutely fantastic day was had at the Annual Malin GAA Sports Day in aid of the Donegal Cancer Bus in Connolly Park
on Sunday. It wasn’t a scorcher but the rain stayed away long enough for all the fun to take place.
Congratulations to anyone who won any of the sideshows or races. A massive thank you must go to all those
who helped out on the day, with a special mention to Paddy McLaughlin (Den) for his services as MC,
Paddy Jimmy Mickey for his co-ordination of events and the Malin GAA Committee members who helped make the day such a huge success. Congratulations to Christina Mc Laughlin (Hamish), Senior Ladies Player, Underage Coach and minor Club PRO
on winning the coveted title of “Malin GAA’s Country Queen”. This is the first year of what we hope will continue to be
a welcome sight at the Sports Day. Well done to all those girls who represented our local businesses, they all did a fantastic
job and thank you to those businesses for supporting the cause. The “Malin GAA’s Country King” title deservedly went to
Conor Mc Donagh, a Carn man – which just shows our own Malin men will have to brush up on their skills for this time
next year. Special thank you to the three judges John Mc Colgan, Marian Kelly and Rosaleen Mc Laughlin (Rustard) for doing such a
fine job on selecting a winner and also a huge thank you to Rosemary McColgan, Linda McColgan, Kate Kelly & Pauline Fildara for organising and helping out with the Country Queen Competition.
Announcing our final school quiz of the year! Open to each of our local schools, we will be testing the young people of the area on their Malin GAA knowledge. With a great prize up for grab we will be encouraging everyone to take part. As it’s the last quiz of the school year, here’s a little clue to one of the answers. What Malin Senior player wears a Donegal Cap during senior club matches?? Good Luck to everyone taking part & we will announce the winners over the next few weeks.
