LYIT won the Trench Cup with a 0-15 to 2-7 win over a fancied Dundalk IT in Mallow this afternoon. Behind by three, 1-6 to 0-6 at half time, they were hit by a second Dundalk goal early in the second half but from there to the end they dominated proceedings firing over nine second half points to Dundalk’s one, to win by two. St Michael’s Michael Langan won man of the match and the side was captained by Naomh Bríd’s Callum Gallagher.
