Letterkenny Gaels Club Notes 28 Aug 2015

By Sinéad Breen Donegal PRO Fri 28th Aug

The championship campaign for our two men’s senior football teams came to an end at the weekend when they were defeated by Downings in their quarter final games. The Junior A lads lost on a scoreline of 2-09 to 1-07 while the Junior B team lost 2-07 to 0-08.

Well done to Caoimhe Doherty, Eimear Quinn and Anna Mc Hugh who were part of the U-14 Donegal Camogie Squad who won the Division 4 Ulster Shield at the weekend.

The U-16 girls team beat Naomh Colmcille on Wednesday evening. Training continues every Wednesday from 6pm-7pm and Friday evenings from 7pm-8pm.

In an exciting new venture to extend the range of activities it offers off the field, Letterkenny Gaels is planning to stage a three act play in October.

Directed by Paddy O’Connor, “Widows Paradise” is a hilarious comedy by Sam Cree with a cast of ten.

All club members are invited to audition for parts in the play on Monday next 24th and Tuesday 25th August at the Clubhouse from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

The roles are: 4 females (of mature years), 4 males (of a similar age bracket), 1 female and 1 male (both late teens, early 20s)

Don’t let lack of acting experience deter you from taking part – this may be the very opportunity you’ve been waiting for to discover your inner diva!

Equally important assistants are required to work off stage and backstage in the production. Please come along on Monday evening if you are free to help out in the non-acting roles.

The U-16 footballers are due to play neighbours St. Eunans at Pairc na nGael in the championship this coming Monday. Come down and support the lads. Throw in is 7pm.

Thanks to all who helped out with the bag pack in Tesco on Saturday.

Underage football training for U-6, U-8 & U-10’s recommences this Sunday at the Glebe after its summer break. New members especially welcome. 11am-12noon. There is also a session on Wednesday evenings. Please bring mouth guards and drink.
