Letterkenny Gaels Club notes 18/8/14

The Senior team recorded a good win over Na Rossa at Pairc na nGael on Saturday evening. After a slow start the lads took control of the game in the second half and secured another important victory. This coming weekend they play Urris in the Junior A Championship quarter final. See Facebook for details of fixture.

Congratulations and well done to Mark English on his great run in the European Championships at the weekend. The club would also like to congratulate Brian & Niall Diver from the Swilly Seals on winning their medals at the Community Games.

The Og sport finals will be held this Saturday morning from 11am at the pitch. Good luck to our U-15s playing in this competition.

Our U-13 game against Naomh Colmcille was postponed last week.

Good luck to our U-16 hurlers who play Mc Cumhaills in the Division 2 league final this Thursday evening in Convoy. Come along and support the lads.

The U-8 footballers had a successful blitz at the pitch last Saturday morning when they welcomed neighbours Termon. A great morning of fun & football was had by all. Thanks to all for helping out.
U-6, U-8 & U-10 Football continues every Sunday morning at 11am at Pairc na nGael while the U-8’s & U-10’s also train on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm.

Three Gaels players represented the club in the Ulster Camogie blitz held in Armagh at the weekend where the Donegal team won the U-14 Shield. The girls were Caoimhe Doherty, Ellen Quinn & Eimear Quinn.
Camogie training continues every Tuesday evening at Pairc na nGael from 6-7pm for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th class. 5th, 6th class & Secondary school on Monday evening 6-7.30pm at Pairc na nGael. Contact 086 8163605 for information. New players welcome.

Hurling training for U-6, U-8, U-10 and U-12 continues at the pitch every Thursday evening from 6.30-7.30pm. Hurley’s and helmets provided for training.

U-14 & U-16 girls football training continues every Wednesday evening at the pitch.

U-16 football training is on every Monday, Wednesday & Friday evening at 4pm. We would like to thank the management & players of Naomh Barrog U-16’s, Dublin for the sporting challenge game which was played at Pairc na nGael on Saturday past.
