There is still room for a few more teams at the Golf Classic at Dunfanaghy Golf Club this Friday, July 19th, to raise funds for the Donegal Senior team’s training fund. Legendary Kerry footballer, and GAA Pundit on the Sunday Game, Tomás O Sé, must be wondering how he got roped into a fundraiser for Declan and the lads a few days before they meet Kerry in Croke Park. Maith an fear Tomás agus go raibh míle maith agat – with a good rub of the green (and gold) Donegal and Kerry will meet again in Croke Park on September 1st.
Along with Tomás will be a host of legendary Donegal footballers and the main sponsor of the event, Cathal Jackson of Copper Face Jacks. The driving force behind the Classic is Sean Ferriter, one of the County’s greatest ever footballers and current captain of Dunfanaghy Golf Club. After the four-ball competition there will be an evening of entertainment in the clubhouse, including a BBQ. There is space left for two more teams and/or tee sponsorship.
