Glenfin left Páirc na nGael with the points in a hard earned win over hosts Naomh Columba. Glenfin got a dream start racing into a 0-5 to 0-1 point advantage by the 10th min, a lead they would never relinquish. Glen’s Ryan Gillespie kick the opening score of the game from a free, only for Glenfin to reel of 5 in a row Stephen Ward, Daniel McGlynn Karl McGlynn Ciarán Brady and a brace from Gerard Ward one from a free the other a fisted effort. Ryan Gillespie narrowed the gap with his second free but Glenfin retained control with 2 frees from Gerard Ward giving them a six point lead. Coming up to half time two more frees for Glen, converted by Arán Doherty and Ryan Gillespie, left it Naomh Columba 0-4 Glenfin 0-8 at the break.

Naomh Columba started the second half with their third point on the trot as Ryan McNern curled the ball in from the right hand side, Glen’s first from play. Ryan Gillespie converted his fourth free to narrow the gap to two and with Glenfin losing Arán McGlynn to a black card things were looking better for the hosts. Daniel McGlynn got Glenfin on the mark but Arán Doherty from a free and Phillip Doherty from play reduced the gap to the minimum as the game entered the last ten minutes. That was as good as it got for Naomh Columba though. Mark McGinty’s men rallied and late scores from Gerard Ward, Garry Dorrian and Ciarán Brady put the seal on Glenfin’s victory and a valuable two league points.
