Bord na nÓg / Cumann na mBan MINOR LADIES Gaeil Fhánada 3-08 Baile na nGalloglach0-02 The minor ladies had a very decisive win over local rivals Milford on Friday night .In a very low scoring first half Fanad found it very hard to break down Milford’s defense. It was Milford who put it between the posts first with a point in the 4th minute. With Fanad’s goalkeeper Rosheen Mc Ginley in great kicking form Fanad countered with Fanad first point from Maireád Coll in the 5th minute. Fanad had most of the play but found it hard to get into good scoring positions. Milford were very quick on the break but Aisling Howe, Eimear Mc Conigley and Orla Sweeney closing down Milford’s attacks and Rosheen Mc Ginley pulling off two great saves stop Milford from scoring again in the first half. It wasn’t till the 18th minute before Fanad was able to get their 2nd point from Hannah Shiels. Milford did well in keeping Fanad from scoring and forced Fanad into taking shots from distance and causing Fanad to have 8 wides. With the 1st half coming to an end Rachel Sweeney was able to get on the end of a quick Fanad attack and get the first of Fanad goals. The 2nd half started well for Fanad with Aoife Mcdevitt getting a point in the first minute followed by a goal in the 33rd from Lauren Carr, Aoife McDevvitt got her 2nd point just 2 minutes later in the 35 minute. Milford responded with a point but was to be their last. Michelle Doherty got Fanads 3rd goal in the 41st minute follow by points from Hannah Shiels ,Rachel Sweeney, Shona Rogers and Maireád Coll finished off Fanad’s scoring with a point in the 57th minute. Rachel Sweeney 1-0,1 Lauren Carr 1-00, Michelle Doherty 1-00, Maireád Coll 0-02, Hannah Shiels 0-02, Aoife Mcdevitt 0-02, Shona Rogers 0-01. Great result Ladies. Maith sibh.
