Congratulations to Downings, the only Donegal side left in Ulster Club Championship after their four point win in Páirc Esler this afternoon. They dominated all aspects of play in the first half to turn over at half-time with an 0-8 to 0-1 lead. Down representatives Aughlisnafin came roaring back in the second half, closing the gap to 3 points, 0-10 to 0-7 but Lorcan Connor’s sixth point of the game gave them a two score cushion and they saw out the remainder of the game.

In the semi-final – played the weekend of Dec 11/12 – they meet Monaghan Junior Champions Sean McDermotts who accounted for Cookstown in the preliminary round and overcame Armagh representatives Belleeks 0-16 to 1-11 earlier today.
