Austin O’Callaghan spoke to Brian Conaghan of Team Donegal London yesterday on Sunday Sport about the Sport-themed lunch being held to raise funds for Donegal’s Centre of Excellence at Convoy and to Anthony Molloy, one of the Donegal legends who will be in attendance. There are still some tables available for the lunch – see poster below for details – and it is hoped to raise over €30,000 towards financing the Centre.
There are five pitches at the Centre already and the ongoing works are to develop the Centre’s buildings – county teams and development squads have been working out of pre-fabs for the last six years. Works are progressing nicely on the Phase 1 building which will incorporate dressing rooms, a recovery room, some office space, a canteen and meeting rooms as well as a stand. These works are on schedule and 75% complete at end-June with 100% completion targeted for end-September.
