The Senior Reserve final between Kilcar and St Eunans throws in at 1.45 on Sunday. Unbeaten in the league this year and having cruised through all of their Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Championship games, St Eunans are favourites against surprise package Kilcar.
Underdogs they may be but Cill Chartha are in the final on merit. The men from the south west, who knocked out a fancied Naomh Conaill side on a 2-10 to 2-9 scoreline in the semi-final, were also unbeaten in the Group stages accounting for Malin, Termon and Realt na Mara. Captain Paul Sweeney recognises Eunans favourite’s tag but insists “anything can happen on the day” noting that Kilcar will “go out there and play football … and sure we will see what happens”.
Naomh Ádhamhnáin are the reigning champions but will field a very different team from last year with five of the 2018 crop having moved up to the senior squad. This chimes with manager Michael Martin’s claim that the club calls the team a development squad, not a reserve one. With the league already in the bag this young side are looking to complete the double on Sunday.
Referee on Sunday will be Pat Barrett from Milford.
