The Donegal U17 hurlers begin their Bank of Ireland Celtic Challenge campaign this Wednesday at Scarden, Sligo against Mayo with a 7.30 p.m. throw in.

Lorcan O’Toole, John Joe Doherty and Jason Ewing will be looking to their minor stars such as Jordan Barr, St. Eunans, Aaron Craig, Buncrana, Cathal McGlynn, Four Masters, and Donal Doherty, Carndonagh, to lead the charge. While it will give other players the chance to impress ahead of the minor shield final this Saturday.

Having competed in the Ulster group last year Donegal decided to go a different route and find themselves in Group G with some mouth watering ties against Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Galway C and Kildare B.

Now in it’s second year the competition will see 47 teams compete for 6 divisional titles. The games allow up to 10 interchanges per game as well as bonus points for scoring 2 or more goals or for losing by less than 5 points.
