Na Cealla Beaga started brightly against Naomh Conaill hitting the first two scores into the breeze but the home side dominated the rest of the half, leading 0-9 to 0-4 at the break. Naomh Conaill put the tie beyond newly promoted Killybegs reach in the third quarter rattling off early points before a Ciaran Thompson goal killed off any hopes of a way back for the visitors, who nevertheless finished strongly. In MacCumhaill Park, An Clochán Liath stayed in touch until close to the break but two late goals by Oisin Gallen and Marty Reilly virtually killed off the tie leaving the half-time score 3-9 to 0-8. Gallen was on top form for MacCumhaills hitting 2-9 of their 5-14 total. Dungloe face another tough outing next Saturday when they welcome Naomh Conaill to Páirc na Rosann, while it will be do or die for Na Cealla Beaga at Fintra against MacCumhaills who will also be looking for victory before their Round 3 tie against Naomh Conaill.
