Scór Sinsir: The two semi finals of Scór Sinsir took place over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th February in Muff and Glenties respectively. Míle buíochas to the Naomh Pádraig Uisce Chaoin and the Naomh Conaill Clubs for hosting the semi finals.

There was no sett dancing in Donegal this year not has there been now for many years.

The county final of Scór Sinsir took place in Glenfin on Friday 2nd March and for the first time the whole final was streamed live receiving in the region of 3,500 hits. Many thanks to the Glenfin GAA club for hosting the county final.

These clubs with the exception of Gaeil Fhánada who go straight through to the All Ireland finals in Sligo in April will all compete in Burtonport on Saturday 10th March at 5.00pm. where they will be up against the county champions of Armagh, Cavan & Tyrone. A great evening of entertainment is assured and we request that all who have an interest in Scór in Donegal or indeed all who have an interest in the music, song, dance, storytelling or drama of Ireland attend and lend your support to the Donegal competitors who will need all the support they can get to overcome these traditionally strong scór counties. Cead isteach – Admission is €10 and a great evening of top class entertainment is assured so make the trip to Burtonport on Saturday 10th.

Tráth na gCeist Bord: Due to the red alert weather warning and in the interest of safety, the Tráth na gCeist Bord which was to take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel on the 1st March was postponed. This has been rescheduled for Thursday 8th March at 8.00pm. in St. Eunan’s GAA clubhouse (upstairs). Our three top teams will still be able to represent the county in the Ulster final in Armagh on the 9th March. Teams of four will be asked a total of 80 questions (All in Irish) about the following categories.

· Stair na hEireann – Irish Hisory x Babhta amháin – One Round

· Tír Eolas na hEireann – Irish Geography x Babhta amháin – One Round

· Ceol na hEireann – Music of Ireland x Babhta amháin – One Round

· Litríocht na hÉireann – Irish Literature x Babhta amháin – One Round

· Cúrsaí Reatha – Current Affairs x Babhta amháin – One Round

· Eolas Ginearalta – General Knowledge x Babhta amháin – One Round
