The sole survivor of the first Donegal minor team Leo McGinley of Kilcar, now resident in County Limerick Leo was a 16 year old corner forward for the County in 1934 & 1935.
Leo is pictured above with his nephew Sean McGinley of Kilcar, and Eoin “Bomber” Liston.

Leo later joined his brother James Patrick on the Donegal Senior team.
Leo returns as often as possible to Kilcar and loves the traditional music sessions in the local. He was in Croke Park in 1992 and 2012 for Donegal’s All Ireland victories. However he missed out on the 2014 final. An Uncle of well known former Kilcar & Donegal player and Administrator Sean McGinley (Who played his last Championship game for Kilcar at the age of 53 in a Junior Championship final in 2000).
