Senior men The seniors had a very impressive away league victory against Pettigo on Sunday with a final score of 0:3 to 3:18. This was a game that started slowly with only three scores in the first 15 minutes but eventually the men from the cross found there rhythm and never looked back. This was a real team performance with the teams mixture of youth and experience blending nicely to put in a fine performance. Team:  Ciaran Kelly, Alan Mongan, Sean Sweeney, Shane McGlinchey, Dylan Irwin, Carl Gallen, Cathel Doherty, Gerad Melaugh, Damien Browne, Odhran Doherty, Calvin Bradley, Pauric McMenamin, Micheal McColgan, James Carlin, PJ Gallagher Subs used: Damien Wilson, Ronan Gallen, Shane McGuire The seniors next league game is at home vs Convoy on Wednesday the 24th of August with a 7pm throw in, Everyone should come to watch as this game is vital in the seniors push for promotion

U15 Ogsport Finals

Red Hugh’s hosted the all county u15 Ogsport finals on Sunday. This was a fantastic tournament which is played 7 aside. The level of football played was exceotional by all teams.  Our own team competed well against finalists N.Conaill in our first group game with Cody Laverty getting 2 goals and Kieran Neeson exceptional throughout. However the difference was N.Conaill were more accurate in front of the posts and able to take their scores when the chances arrived. Howver Red Hugh’s continued to create goal chances with Gareth McGill and Kieran Neeson unlucky towards the end to capitalise.  Red Hugh’s played Urris next who are the reigning NRB champions having win that competition in June. Red Hugh’s boys again continued to play an attacking fast style of football using Kieran Neeson as the main target who was able to use his speed and strength to win ball. Cody Laverty, Luke Browne. Gareth Mc Gill, Paul Doherty , Darragh Mc Menamin and Cian Gallagher were always in support. Oisin McElhinney was a leader from the back and the launch of many of our attacks. Tiaran Kelly also was top class in nets for the 1st game and outfield in the 2nd game. His intelligent quick thinking was always a threat and set up many of our scoring opportunities There could only be one winner and it was Killybegs who beat a good N. Conaill side who unfortunately didn’t get the best start in the final giving up 2 easy goals and were playing catch up throughout the game. They could only manage to get to 3 points of Killybegs who ran out worthy winners throughout. Killybegs go onto to represent Donegal in Ulster Og Sport.  Special thanks to all the help, support in running this competition and thanks to the children’s board for selecting Red Hugh’s to host this competition.

U12 Boys

Red Hugh’s Under 12 boys travelled up to Moy on Saturday morning to take part in a tournament with clubs from all over Ulster participating. Our boys played excellent throughout losing only a few games in the group stages by the narrowest of margins. However they had done enough to make the quarter finals to defeat a strong Edendork team managed by Tyrones Number 1 goalkeeper Niall Morgan. In a attacking match Red Hugh’s came out on top with a 1 point victory. Red Hugh’s however bowed out in the Semi – Final. These boys and management should be extremely proud of themselves.Red Hughs Under 10’s will also travel to Moy on Saturday 10th September for a simular tournament.

U6 U8 and U10

With our own Summer Camp and Cul Camps finished for the summer. We will resume our Saturday morning sessions with U6, 8 and 10’s. Hope to see all children back out aswell as new who attended the camps. There will be a number of blitz competitions coming up. With also our 8’s and 10’s travelling to Moy in September for end of season tournament.
