Senior Ladies match report:
Four Masters 4-07
Gaoth Dobhair 3-09

Well done to our Senior Ladies, on achieving a difficult one point win over Gaoth Dobhair yesterday, on a glorious Sunday morning in Tirchonaill Park.  The Senior squad is missing some players due to injuries, work/exams and personal commitments.  However, the group available has stuck to it’s task in the Shield competition, working hard and showing consistency of performance in each game.  They started with intent in this fixture, driving on in the opening ten minutes by way of points from Aine McGroarty and Orla Mackle.  With Yvonne Bushell playing well at the heart of the defence the Masters girls kept the scoreboard ticking over via Grace Nolan hitting a goal and a point; the goal was the result of good work from Mackle and McGroarty on the wing.  The full-back line of the Brady sisters and Eilish McGovern had a challenging time, especially from the skilful Gaoth Dobhair full-forward, but they persevered successfully.  It was close at the interval with the home team up by 2pts in a score of 1.06 – 0.07.

The second half commenced at a quick pace and the combination of an Eilish Meehan kick-out, an Eva Diver catch and kick-pass and an Orla Mackle fetch and finish (for goal), demonstrated this.   This game went to the wire and it took a last minute goal from Grace Nolan to seal the deal and a well-deserved 4.07 – 3.09 victory for Four Masters.  Well done to Jenny Greene and Ellie Muldoon (making her senior debut) coming off the bench and doing great work in the final fifteen minutes.  As has been noted in previous reports Mickey Martin manages and coaches as he played, expecting commitment, unity and hard work, and this Squad possesses these qualities in abundance.  Best wishes to Casey Harvey who had to leave the pitch with an injury and Molly Muldoon who is recovering from inury.  Well done to Gaoth Dobhair on a good sporting game.

Best Wishes: The club would like to wish Kate Keaney the best of luck for the summer ahead as she leaves for America.
