Buncrana Clubs Notes 14th Sept 2015

Buncrana u16 hurlers claimed their fourth league title in a row with a convincing win over neighbours Burt in Carndonagh on Thursday night,Buncrana took control from the throw in with early scores from Gabhan Kelly, Dylan Duffy, Ben roe Doherty Paul Tourish and Arron Craig settled any early nerves, and although Buncrana didn’t play to their undoubted potential they were always in control of the match and Burts only 2 scores from play in the match came in a 1 minute spell of individual brilliance from young Caolan mc Dermott, The Scarvey boys were soon back in top again with ,Dylan and Arron and Gabhan and Paul all adding to the score board, the game in patches was physical, with ref Jamsie O Connor having to brandish an unusually high amount of yellow cards for an u16 fixture.Buncrana finished the half 3:9 to 1:1 with 7 wides also.
The second half saw Buncrana players stepping up again with scores coming once again from the Arron ,Dylan and Ben and Paul.In the Defence Fiachra mac Lochlainn and Pj mc Carron were in Sublime form and in control all the time they were well supported by Keeper Jason Campbell , Oisin Hegarty and John Vaughan, Mathew Wilson and Oisin Roe Doherty,in midfield Niall O Doherty and Paul Tourish were in control and were to strong for the oppostion midfield.up front the main scoring came from Ben Dylan and Arron and Gabhan but Oisin Grant and the industrious Darren Connolly were relentless in their to drive the team on and launched many attacks.as the game went on and settled in its intensity the Buncana side added to their impressive score with some spectacular scores from play from Paul Tourish, but Mark Craig a second half sub hit a sweet ground strike from 20 yards to rattle the back of the net, Liam O Doherty also introduced as sub claimed a well taken free.The final score was 6:15 to 1:2 (14 wides in total also)

This squad are an exceptionally talented side and all are a credit to the club, themselves and their families, they will concentrate on the championship now when they make the long trip to Ballyshannon on Thursday night for the semi final.
